  1. I'm a fan of the mojo glass big crankster , It's not for the faint of heart as it's pretty heavy but I really like the way it casts and handles fish. I throw DD22'S 6XD'S ect. on it. I also use a old quantum tour that goes back 20 years or so, when they were still made in the U.S. and used lamiglas blanks..
  2. I use a Yamamoto 7ft medium with a saros /6lb mono. 90% 0f the time i use a 3/16 0z head and this has been a great set up for me.
  3. I think the CBR 845 is a great all around crankbait rod, pretty much do everything you need . As to reels I'd just go with the curado I or if you can find one the E5. talk to the guys at American Legacy.
  4. I live on table rock so mostly rock and some cedars but not what I would call heavy. The 5/16 I pitch boat stalls and walkways with.
  5. I'm interested in trying a st.croix rod for 5/16 to 1/2 jigs. I'm thinking the legend elite 7' MH. but I'm wondering if it's too much for 5/16. anyone have any thoughts ?
  6. Here on Table Rock the red fin is famous. The trick is to get one that wakes correctly. There's a lot of tricks to get them to run right but some never do . The good ones are magic.
  7. I have the flat side special, use it for 5/16-3/8 jigs, spinnerbaits, walking baits like the spook jr. and dog x. Really good wart rod as well .I use it with 11lb.Defier and do most anything with it.
  8. If you can get one that runs right....the Redfin.
  9. I use Table Rock black lights and have been very pleased.
  10. I could be wrong, but I believe it's Doyo.

I fish mostly E&L, both the football and weapon head, if I have to buy store bought I go with Jewell.
  12. The mansfield makes a nice wiggle wart rod or 1.5's , anything bigger and I would want a stouter rod. I have thrown squarebills on both the eakins rod and the weightless worm.
  13. I'm a fan of balsa Square bills and Dave's in particular. He has a color he calls golden bream that has been a great producer for me.
  14. I really like the Denali kovert spinnerbait rod. Its , 6ft.9in. and has a nice tip for WTD lures , I've thrown spooks, dog x , and the repo man on it . It might be a little stout for the 1/4 oz poppers but it's fine for the yellow magic magnum.
  15. Here on Table rock I use 1/2 to 3/4 oz. I,ve gotten away from using the swivel and leader deal and just use a carolina keeper with the weight and a bead. I like the fish dr, baby brush hog and lizard.
  16. The jadewood spinnerbait rod was discontinued awhile back, I believe the topwater rod is the same blank but if you throw more than 3/8 its a little soft. Personally I would spend the additional 29 bucks a get the kovert. A great spinnerbait rod and also makes a good squarebill rod.
  17. I'm a big fan of the amistad. I don't do any punching here on Table rock but it's a great 1/2-5/8 oz. jig rod.. Also can throw the 3 wire a-rigs on it..
  18. We had over 40 the other day with a lot of keepers.. most of them on a shakey head and a few on the fin . But the fin bite should only get better..we saw fish on the beds but the bite was so good there was no sense in wasting time on them. That too may change.
  19. When the water temp gets in the upper 50's I put it down...They may still bite it some but after a couple months of throwing it I'm ready for a break.
  20. After 30 years or so of throwing spooks on my old all star bcm 6 and the Zell Rowland TWS I tried the Orochi FSS. Just a great topwater rod.Great caster, Good tip and enough power to move fish in a hurry. Also throw the Dog x , Pop r's.,sammy's ect.
  21. They come with 5's.. I usually go 6 on front 4 on the back.. On the fin I use 2's with a dressed one on the back.
  22. I wouldn't go that heavy with it, It's a 4.5 power but it's not as parabolic as a traditional crankbait rod. I would say it's a moving bait rod that you could fish a light jig or a t-rigged plastic like a beaver with...when your looking for a rod to fish 3/4 oz. jigs with your really in a different power and action.
  23. I have the flat side special, The build quality of the orochi is very impressive. It's a great crankbait , spinnerbait and topwater rod. also a nice jerkbait rod if you don't mind the length. I wouldn't be afraid to drag a 3/8 oz jig with it either.
  24. I paid 100 bucks for a dozen pre rapala warts a few years ago and wish I had bought 2 dozen..With that said not every pre rapala wart runs great and every post runs bad, I have caught em on both.. I think throwing them where the fish are is more important...
  25. I have the Muphy signature in the casting version, it's a great stick .I throw everything from vision 110's to pointer 78's with it . I also use it for yellow magics and small squarebills like the 1.5's
