  1. I really dislike fishing a drop shot but where I fish at times you pretty much need to.. The loomis NRX DSR 822 is good .
  2. +1 The KLX would be well worth the additional 20 bucks. Of those on the list, the Tatula.
  3. I'm in MO also. I like the blades. I use 1/4 oz. ball heads mostly with as thin a hook as I can get away with, when the rig gets hung up usually you can straighten the hook and get it back. I like the keitchs in the 3.8 or swimmin fluke jr's on the outside and a bigger bait like the keitech 4.8 fat on the center.
  4. Net Bait makes a color in the small Paca chunk sold locally called Table Rock red that works well for me. Also for the 5/16 and 3/8 jigs my old stand by is to use a speed craw and tear off the first section before threading it on the hook. The profile is just about right for a finesse jig.
  5. Depends on what size spinnerbaits you throw. For 1/4 and 3/8oz. a medium will be fine. If you throw much 1/2oz. or more I'd go with the MH.. And casting... I really like the Loomis SBR 812 .it's a 6ft 9, medium, xfast.. It's good for the majority of my spinnerbait fishing. For the 1/4 oz war eagle I use a TWR 802.
  6. I have Tatulas as well as Lexa, personally I'd go with the Lexa for that price .The Tatulas a great reel for sure but for 70 bucks its a deal.
  7. I used to fish the DX 745 and thought it was a decent jig rod, I also have GLX 894. Earlier this year a bought a KLX 7ft. heavy and it's just a great 1/2 -3/4 oz. jig rod. I'm really surprised just how good that rod is at any price but for under $ 200 it's a steal.. worth a look..
  8. Thats true, There also a decent bass population. If you can catch it when they are running power through Table Rock and the water gets in the bushes there's a decent flipping bite , and around the docks. Usually best from Bull creek on down toward power site.
  9. I can be at K dock on bull in about 20 minutes or so but I never fish it. Probably should, had some great trips there years ago with my Dad .Guess I'm just comfortable on Table Rock..I do fish Taneycomo some if the boat traffic gets too much during vacation season...
  10. I usually use my 853 for 5/16 and up..I would agree 3/16 and a plastic of some kind would be fine.. I personally wouldn't go any lighter..1/8 oz.. Id be looking at the 2 power.
  11. I would agree that 6 out of 10 redfins wont wake right out of the package but I don't believe that 6 out of 10 is right across the board. 6 out 10 vision 110'S aren't bad or pointers .I've had 1 bad 6xd that would take on water ,Sent it back to SK and they sent me 3..Cant beat that.
  12. If you check you tube there is a video of Dave Barker fishing the Wart here on Table Rock, He is a master at it. Pay attention to how he pulls the bait along with the rod tip. Also the the Rock Crawler should be out in a few weeks. It will be be a deeper alternative to the wart.
  13. I love the wiggle wart..A few I really like are the falcon shoal cranker and Denali jw843cb. Another one I've been using the last several weeks is a kisselkrafts built on a MHX 843 blend blank. The action is just about perfect for the wart and plenty sensitive, really impressed with the build quality. I Throw them all with a curado E5 and 8lb sniper or invizx
  14. I have a Yamamoto 7ft.Medium that has been a great tube, shakey head and light hula grub rod. If memory Serves it was around $120.
  15. For the deep divers like the DD22,6XD ect. I use 10lb flouro . For the wiggle wart and and deep little N I use 8lb flouro. Normally I use sunline but for cranking I like Invizx.
  16. Once they start to go on beds I always have one ready. The trouble with the redfin is that it's not a very high quality bait and getting one to run right can be a chore.. some never do and end up in the trash can.. I like blue or black back and chrome or smoky joe the best.. Change the hooks and put a feathered treble on the back. Then put 3 or 4 suspend dots on the belly right in front of where its jointed and hope for the best. If it dives it's no good. you can try more weight or move on to the next one... I also take the split ring off and use a snap...as a last resort you can try to bend the bill by heating it but I've thrown more away than I've fixed trying it.. I throw it on a old allstar TWS and 16lb mono.. .. . If you get one thats runs right at the right time here on Table Rock they are magic...
  17. 10 or 12 lb Sunline sniper..
  18. I throw them on my jerk bait rod...a Loomis TWR802 with a chronarch 50 and 10lb flouro...the NRX 853 also fishes them well.
  19. I really like the Falcon shoal cranker, it's a ML power and works great for anything up to a wiggle wart.. I also have a kisselkrafts made on MHX cb843 blank that's great for 1.5's ,warts and bandit 100 and 200's..
  20. Yep, IMX and above.. Check with American Legacy, they usually have a a good selection of used rods. Also they have a great sale on the Icast display rods.
  21. I fished it for several months. It's not a parabolic action like a typical crankbait rod but i liked it for wiggle warts and deep little N's. It would fish 3/8 oz. spinnerbaits fine and it was a good topwater rod for redfins, spooks ect. If you don't mind the length it would probably make a nice jerkbait rod also.
  22. I throw them on a 7ft.11inch x heavy swimbait/rig rod with 25lb mono, as for reels a slow ratio makes it easier but something in the 6:1 area is fine. I like 1/4oz ball heads. Here in Missouri we can only have 3 hooks so i cut the the hooks off the 2 teasers and just use the jig head, I think it helps balance the thing out and keeps them from spinning on the retrieve. As to baits I usually use the Keitechs in the 3.8 on the outsides and the 4.8 fat on the center hook. It seems thats the one that gets bit 90% of the time. The swimmin flukes and the LPO's with the grub tail are also good on the teasers. You can throw it on on a 7ft rod ,especially around docks or casting to the bank, but out in the open or on bluffs casting distance is at a premium. I don't throw the 3 wires much but that may be a option as well.
  23. The stock hooks will be fine. I believe Norman uses VMC's... I've never changed them unless they roll a point...
  24. Great bait..they fish as well as any, great paint, good hooks.thats a good color, the ol John Deere.
