  1. I own the dsr820 in the e6x and the 7ft ML Spinning and the 6ft 10 m casting in the Zodias. I think the Zodias is the better rod, better blank and you get alconites with a SIC tip top vs aluminum oxides.. I'm not crazy about the jdm look of the shimano but if your looking for performance, especially for bottom contact baits, that's the way I would go. The only crucial I have is the 6ft 8 xfast...Great popr and spook Jr.rod and I like it for 1/4 and 3/8 oz. Spinnerbaits. Also it looks like there may be a new cumara which would mean discounts on the present models..
  2. For wiggle warts 8 or 10lb invisx... They do mark some of them as fast actions although they really arent all that fast..
  3. I like to pitch slab spoons into docks...usually 30-50 feet deep.I've always used a jig rod but after having one straighten the hook last year I'm wondering if a crankbait rod would be better. It would have to be about 6ft 6 so it's maneuverable in the stalls but have enough power to pull them out of the boat lifts. I use 1/2 and 3/4 oz. Spoons.....any thoughts ?
  4. I use a 7ft ML Zodias for the ned..It will work for a light shaky head, say 3/16 or less, but any more and I use a Yamamoto medium..
  5. I don't think it matters.. The guy who pours heads for me makes them in any color I want. I've gone to the unpainted heads after using green pumpkin and brown and I haven't seen any difference at all..In fact had a great day on Table Rock last week on the unpainted.
  6. I'll take some also...I hope your not expecting a night and day difference between seaguar and sunline..
  7. The 6lb. super natural is a great choice.,
  8. It's my understanding that the rep. sample thing was a way some dealers were getting around MAP pricing .After all,how many could there really be ?.. Also heard that shimano/loomis has put a stop to it. Will be interesting to see if any more show up for sale.
  9. I own a NRX 853 and a GLX 894.. I can tell the difference in sensitivity.. at least I think I can.. To me, the 853 is the perfect 3/8-1/2oz. jig rod.. And I like the 85 inch rod better than the 89 which feels cumbersome to me.. I would buy the NRX and I would buy it from American Legacy.
  10. Pro Tungsten has the best prices and quality I've found..
  11. I throw 1/4 and 3/8 on a spinnerbait rod, 6ft 8 medium x fast..
  12. I throw the 1/8 oz that deep on Table Rock all the time... It does take it awhile to the bottom but it also gets bit on the fall a lot. I'd throw it any where you would a shaky head. I use either 20lb. braid with a 6lb. leader or straight 6lb. invisx.
  13. Jewel and E and L
  14. I usually use a 1/4oz. ball head..something with a fairly light hook that I can straighten when it gets hung up..
  15. After several years and different rods I've settled on a zodias ML . Just about perfect for it. I too like a fast action.. I wouldn't worry too much about belly hooking them.. I've had one all year.. Of course its regrettable when it happens but in my experience its rare.
  16. I have several, A couple old allstars, a bcm 6 and a Zell Rowland TWS. Another good one is the new crucial 6ft 8 medium xfast.. I throw mine on a 50 size chronarch and 16lb. super natural.
  17. Daiwa green handle glass..
  18. The 2015 crucial 6ft.8 medium xfast is a great topwater /stickbait rod... spook jr's. , sammys, dog x ect...also a good buzzbait rod.
  19. I have the Zodias in the 7ft. ML. I believe it also comes in a 6ft 8 . Great rod, I use it for the ned, shakey head, 3/16 tube ect.
