Honestly for the price of rods now days that seems like it should be information that is disclosed. The blank used is what matters most in my opinion.

Anyone know for sure the size bearings needed to upgrade the bushings to bearings in the handle and levelwind? How many are needed and where is best place to get them without breaking the bank? I'm going to be upgrading several reels.

I haven't been over yet myself but I know several locals here in NWA go over and report some nice catches. In the fall it's supposed to be a great place to get on a A-Rig bite.

To get them drunk requires letting your worm soak overnight first. I don't recommend it though.. there is nothing worse than a drunk bass on the end of your line.

Just spit some Evan Williams Bourbon on your hands and bait.. it will drive them bass wild!

Buzzfrog, I always have 3 jigs tied on... swimmin jig, flippin jig and a football jig... I have 3 7'6" St Croix Mojo pitchin rods paired with Lew's Tournament MG reels. All three combos have 65lb Suffix Braid and Flouro leaders to adapt to changing presentations and conditions.

Paul, I use brush hogs for jig trailers on occasion and love them. Anytime the jig bite is good and I know everyone else is likely throwing a jig I switch to the brush hog to gain the edge of doing something different. The added action the brush hog provides doesn't hurt either. I usually bite a small piece half the length of my index fingernail or so off. I then thread the remaining brush hog onto the jig as straight as possible so that it doesn't interfere with the way my jig falls. By the way, I use brush hogs on flipping and football jigs both. Hello all! I'm new to the forums but have been following the site for some time now. I finally have some extra time on my hands so figured I would spend more of it here and get involved a bit. Obviously I am in Northwest Arkansas and have been for about a year and a half now. I am originally from East Texas where I cut my teeth on some great fishing lakes like Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Fork, Livingston and many others. I have been fishing as far back as I can remember and have had bass fishing as my main hobby since I was 8. I enjoy learning from and sharing with other anglers more than just about anything else which is why I am here. I'm looking forward to getting to know something about everyone here on the forums. Spool is filled, line is tied, I'm ready to cast!

Matthew, throwing up into those culverts I would use something like a 3/8 or 1/4 ounce Arkie head jig that will help you skip further back into them. In clear water I would keep my colors simple and use natural colors like watermelon in bright conditions and move to something just a tad darker like PB&J in low light conditions. Experiment with your trailers, the baby brush hogs for example work well and so would craws, senkos, worms, grubs and beavers. Most importantly keep an open mind, observe and let each fish catch tell you something about what the fish want and how they want it. If you do that you will become confident in your technique which will lead to many successful fishing trips!
