  1. I'd recommend getting a pvc pipe and cutting it to your desired length. It will usually be a bit cheaper than the 8'cardboard tubes, at least from my experience. But biggest thing, too me at least, is there is a much smaller chance of the pvc breaking. Not that the cardboard breaks often, but that is the material I've had problems with, and I've heard others have problems with. I'd rather do it right the first time and not have to deal with a broken rod.
  2. If there are only sparse weeds I think you'll be fine. You'll drag some veg out every once in a while, but you should also catch some fish. I have a pond near by that is similar. Shakey heads are definitely a good tool to have in the toolbox.
  3. I really like the mega strike shaky 2 jig. I gave tried a lot but still find myself going back to using zoom trick worms most of the time. They're not my fairies around weeds as they will pick them up since you're usually dragging the rig on the bottom.

Just picked up 2 of these with the labor day weekend sales. I got the real blue Gill and real shad. I was wondering what conditions you use these under? Thanks.
  5. A nice idea if we could trust everyone on the internet, but that's unfortunately not the case. It's probably better for my bank account anyways. Trying a Stella or a zonda... I'm sure I'd try buying one of I got to fish with one
  6. I've used all 3 generations of the revo. I really liked the first 2. Very smooth and solid reels. A little heavy by today's standards, but they were great when I had them. I didn't care for the 3 though. Not that it was a bad reel, I just didn't care for the way it felt in my hands for some reason. Plus I don't like white gear. I had a citica g a while back as well. Real world performance wise, they are all close. If it's between the 3rd s and the citica g, I would probably go with the citica. Older versions of the s, I'd go with those. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong
  7. Hematoma is one of my favorite colors. Nice fish!
  8. I wouldn't worry about it. ..
  9. Rod and reel, BPS PQ/Carbonilte combo
  10. I'll have to try out a 1/16th. I rarely ever go that low.
  11. Ah! I just started using the cuttail worm a lot recently as well. I really like it on a 1/8-1/4oz sinker
  12. Rage Craw, RI Beaver, Recon Worm, Trick Worm I usually use a Brush Hog but I haven't been lately
  13. How cheap are you talking? I think one of the best bang for your buck combos out there is the bps pq/carbonlite combo, but that's at ~160. I don't know if that's inexpensive by your standards. Nothing wrong if it is or isn't. Just saying that a price point will allow for better input.
  14. I had the same problem with a shimano reel before. If that is the issue is a very easy fix. I can't comment on whether or not you should get anther reel though. Both are supposed to be great from I've heard.
  15. The Aldebaran is a sweet reel too. The bfs is a great finesse reel
  16. Haven't used the Metanium, but I'm loving my Core 51mg7
  17. Like others said, no, they don't float. I'd honestly look at other options. Only reason I have them is because I got serval packs for $1/pack
  18. At least its not an aldebaran and a core51...
  19. Never used either but the comparisons that I've heard made with the zillion, my guess is that it would be better than the crucial
  20. Dobyns extreme Shimano Cumulus
