  1. Has anyone used the Veritas Crankbait rod? I am looking for a decently price crankbait rod and I already like my Veritas casting rod. If not the Veritas, what other rods would you recommend? Thanks
  2. KVD 2.5 x2
  3. What brand fluoro were you using? I know a lot of guys dont use palomar knots with fluoro because it might compromise the line strength.
  4. Found a website that claims you can download owner's manuals for free. May be a little sketchy looking to me and I have no idea if it would have the manual for a fishing reel, but here is the link if you want to take a look for your self. http://produtools.com/d/manuals.php
  5. 2 votes for Yo Zuri. Its going to be hard to pass that line up with all the good reviews I've read and the fact that I can get 600yds for less than 200yds of some of the better fluoro. It sounds like knot strength is better with Yo Zuri as well. Is this true to yall's experience?
  6. I was about to get this until I found a deal somewhere else. Looks like a great set up for the price for sure though.
  7. Thanks! Already got some 10# Trilene I was planning to learn with. I'm lookin one step ahead so I can add the line in with my next order of tackle.
  8. Thanks! The Sunline does look awesome. Its one of those things where if I want to find the best bang for my buck with a little more emphasis on the bang side of the equation, meaning I'm willing to pay a little bit more if it means it will be that much better.
  9. I am looking to spool my first baitcaster (Lews Tournament SS 6.4:1, 6'9 MH/F Veritas) and not sure what line to use. I want something pretty versatile (jigs, spinners, heavier cranks, soft plastics). It seems to me that 12-15lb fluoro would be a good line to use for what I want to throw. I've read a lot of good things about seagur and sunline, but also a lot of people seem to really like yozuri hybrid. What would be best for my situation?
  10. I've not used one, but a lot of guys will point you towards a shimano sellus if you're looking for a cheaper/quality rod. They're 50-60 online
  11. Also, I do like the 2 piece veritas (6'9'' MH) since I do usually have to pack up in the car to my main lake.
  12. I realize someone just started a topic recently to find a rod under 100 for his Lews, but I have also found that 50-60 bucks can make a big difference in rod selection. So, my price range is 100 - 150/160. I am looking for something versatile as this is my first casting combo. I have been looking very hard at many of the abu rods and I can actually get a really good deal on the villain, but I have not heard many reviews about this rod. I have also heard a lot of good things about abu's other rods as well. What other rods would yall recommend?
  13. Wow. Thanks for the help yall.
  14. Much thanks everyone. LMG, thanks for all the help. You definitely swayed my choice. I'll see what funds look like coming up and make my decision after that.
  15. Haha, that was about to be my next question. Is the Curado G going to be that much better? I don't want to pay more than I have to, but I also believe in getting something thats quality and going to last.
  16. How does the Citica compare with the Revo SX in yalls opinions?
  17. Thanks Caleb. Those other threads definitely helped. BPS has a combo for 160 and it just seems like too good a deal to pass up for what I'm looking for. Unless someone else gets on here and talks me out of it that looks like my rod and reel.
  18. I'm looking at getting my first casting rod and reel. I want an all around combo seeing as it is my first. I only want to spend around 150 +/-. I've picked out the BPS Pro Qualifier Reel/CarbonLite Trigger Rod. 6.4:1 gear ratio and 7' MH/F rod. Would anyone else second this choice or have any other suggestions? Thanks.
  19. Thanks!
  20. Hello BR nation. My name is Erik. I have been fishing on and off ever since I was a little guy but never really took it seriously. I'm much more excited about it now and try to get out on the water as much as possible. I want to learn as much as possible and build up my tackle arsenal for ultimate bass slaying.
