  1. Today I went to my local-ish bass pro shops (concord nc) with intentions of buying several of the pro qualifier reels that were on sale this week. I was disappointed to learn that on day 2 of the sale they were already sold out of all right hand variations. They had a few left handed models left but that did me no good. When I asked about a rain check on them I was initially told they could do one but when it came down to actually getting one I was told they had just received an email from their home office and they were not doing any more rain checks on the PQs. The employee I spoke with said they were supposed to have more on the way later in the week but couldn't give me any solid information on how many or when exactly they would arrive. Up until now I've always been pleased with their service but after driving nearly 2 hours to buy a specific item that I know is a consistent top seller at BPS's spring sale and they were sold out on day 2 of a 10 day sale, I'm starting to wonder if I should take my business elsewhere. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions let me know
  2. Does transducershieldandsaver.com run any holiday or other discounts? I need to pick up a few things from them and would love to save a little money if I can
  3. Looking for opinions on Spiderwire Stealth glo-vis from people that have used it. Considering switching several of my setups from power pro super slick to glo-vis but I'd like to hear some honest opinions first
  4. Does anybody know when tackle warehouse will start their holiday sales?
  5. Hello everybody. I'm looking to upgrade my fish finder this winter and I'm looking for opinions and thoughts on whether I should look into one with down scan or one with side scan. I've basically narrowed my choices down to the Humminbird 899ci HD SI and the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. I'd like to hear from people that have these and similar units and share everything you can from quality of the picture to ease of use to anything else you can think of.
  6. Does anyone fish the old mann's undulator spinnerbaits, the ones where the blade is separated into three parts and connected rings? I have 2 and I'd like to find some more. I'd even be happy with just some of the blades.

Hey guys There is a pretty good chance I'm going to be moving soon. I'll most likely be moving into a fairly small apartment. My question is this. Where do you guys in similar situations store your boat? I'd like to be able to keep it in some kind of covered, secure structure. One idea I've had is possibly renting a large storage unit but I worry about the cost of that. I'd like to get some input from you all.
  8. Hey everybody What's the best jig rod in yalls opinion?
  9. Power pro super 8 is my go to
  10. I try to fish a craw pattern that's a mixture of dark green and brown with a few strands of bright orange. Netbait paca chunk in green pumpkin dipped in methyalate jjs magic to make bright claws

Its an awesome way to catch fish. T-rigs and jigs are my go to confidence techniques
  12. If you do anything else special let us know with a write in
  13. Just looking to get an idea how you guys prefer to fish your jigs. Hop them or drag the bottom?
  14. Thanks guys. Square bills look like a great option. Any color suggestions besides the basic match the hatch?
  15. Hey guys The lakes I fish have little to no grass growing on or in them. However they have plenty of docks, rip rap, some bluff walls, and tons of flooded tree lay down and brush. I can usually catch a few fish every trip but I'd like to know what baits and which cover you would target to catch more fish and do it consistently. I'm generally into jigs and ribbon tail worms but have a decent selection of hard baits and such. Also in fishing in the foothills of North Carolina on the catawba river chain of lakes if that helps out
  16. Good news and bad news guys. Went to a lake I've never fished before this morning. I fished the jigs and they fished well...catching was another story. The fish were on a crankbait bite so the jigs just didn't produce for me. I did catch two small fish and hooked another good fish only to lose him the first time he rolled on the surface. Still a good day on the water though and I still have high expectations for the siebert jigs. And as far as waxing, I normally wax mine a couple times a year. Usually once before the season starts and twice throughout the season. Idk if its completely necessary but it makes me feel better knowing there's another small layer of protection. I can't see any reason to do it on an aluminum boat, only glass.
  17. Will do fellas. I'm going in the morning. Had to wash and wax the boat today as I had neglected it for a few weeks lol
  18. Just got my first order of jigs from siebert outdoors. They look outstanding! I'm going to try them out later this week but unless I'm gravely mistaken they look as though they will haul in some nice fish. Thanks Mike!

I just made my first order of jigs from siebert outdoors. I ordered the dredge series brush jigs in 3/8 oz. While I'm waiting on them, what do you guys think makes the best trailer to match up with those in flooded timber/brush? I've had good success the last few days on some cheap jigs I bought at bass pro rigged with a havoc craw fatty as my trailer, but I'd like to get some opinions on other things to try
  20. So at the bass pro spring classic I picked up a handful of Hart Tackle jigs for something like 1.50. I really like the head on these jigs. It has a flat on the top of the head that makes the jig stand up for a really nice presentation. I was wondering if anybody knew of any other companies or custom jig makers that are using this type of head to make a higher quality jig. here is the link to the jigs at BPS: http://www.basspro.com/Hart-Tackle-Justice-Jig/product/10211198/ If anybody can help me out let me know Thanks, Carson
  21. Spencer we were talking about using epoxy as a sealant for plaster of Paris molds. I think you are using a different medium to make the molds
  22. Do you thin the epoxy with anything or just straight mix?
  23. Could you explain how exactly you are sealing with epoxy? I've sealed some of mine with elmers and water but I'm looking to seal with something better on my new molds
  24. I am in Burke county but may be moving to hickory soon so I would also be interested in a club in the area.
