Pulled The Trigger On A Maxxum 70
Trees I am aware that it's 24v. Just wired in my new batteries today. Gelhar thanks for the suggestion about the lights. My MG was a 42in shaft just like the MK I ordered so I don't expect it to be a problem but I'll definitely check it out.

Pulled The Trigger On A Maxxum 70
Finally pulled the trigger on a mk maxxum 70 trolling motor. Upgrading from a 46 motor guide that came on my boat when I bought it and has probably been on it since new. Ordered from tackle warehouse. They were great to deal with as usual. The price match took a few minutes to confirm but after that it only took a few seconds to get everything set up. Should be here Tuesday What does everybody think of these motors? Any suggestions with them?

Trolling Motor
Thanks for the replies. Does anybody on here that's familiar with nitro boats know what gauge wire they come with from the factory? And if the factory wiring needs to be upgraded what gauge should I be using?

Trolling Motor
Hey guys This winter I'm planning to upgrade the TM on my 04 Nitro nx750. It has the factory 12v 46# motorguide on it right now. I'm planning on getting the a Minn kota maxxum 70# 24v. First of all what are yalls thoughts on that TM? Second, I think I remember reading somewhere that MK mounts are drilled so that they will line up with MG mounting holes and was wondering if anybody could confirm this? Any other advice anybody might have is also welcome. Thanks

Those 20-30 Min Summer Storms
I appreciate it bro... I might try and hit hickory sometime middle of next week then. I'll post back and let you know how things go Whitwolf I appreciate the update on rhodhiss too. It's actually my favorite lake to fish but it's been solid red muddy almost every time I've been there this year.

Those 20-30 Min Summer Storms
buzzfrog, are you fishing lake hickory or are you hitting ponds and such? I'm not far from you (Morganton) and havent done much good on any of the lakes along the catawba this year. The rain has been an absolute killer this year. How is water clarity and lake levels on Hickory in the last couple weeks?

Pedestal Storage
Just curious how you guys store your pedestals when they aren't being used. I always take mine out and leave them in the middle storage compartment on the front of my nitro. I was thinking it would be nice to have some kind of clamp or mount that held them securely so they wouldn't rattle or move around. Has anybody got anything like this that they bought or made themselves? Any ideas are appreciated

Have I Been Fishing Jigs Wrong?
I'm completely lost on how this is working. I'm not a big jig fisherman (although its an area I need to improve on), but this makes no sense.

Favorite Brand
Thanks everybody for posting...I had been lurking around the forums for a while, but I'm quickly discovering that this site is going to be a great resource to learn things from during the winter. I'm definitely thinking I need to try out some Senkos this coming spring. Keep the replies coming

Favorite Brand
I know this topic is liable to generate some heated discussion, and I'd love to see all those different opinions. What is everyone's favorite brand and style of worm to fish with? Best colors? GO!! I generally fish with Culprit Originals (which I can barely find around here anymore so the internet is a godsend). My favorite colors are Hot Watermelon (Watermelon Seed with long skinny red flakes) and Grape.

Catawba River Chain
What's up guys? Just wondering if there is anybody on these forums that fishes in Western North Carolina. I mostly fish lakes along the Catawba River (Rhodhiss, Hickory, Lookout, and occasionally Norman). I fished a lot with my dad when I was younger, but we were never really dedicated and now that I've bought my own boat, I'm looking to get more serious with my fishing and I'm looking for any advice or pointers I can find during the off season. Thanks, -C
