I have a BPS Tourney Special IM-7 6'6" med paired with a Plueger President. An abosultely affordable setup and the rod feels and performs like it should cost $200. Very sensitive with plenty of backbone to get those quick hooksets and pull those big ones out of cover and onto the boat. love this rod and reel

I here a lot about the "jig and pig" craze and i was just wondering if this is a general term for all jigs? What type of jig will catch me the pigs in the fall? Football, grass, or swim jig? What colors and what trailers? Thanks!

Ive been fishing a small golf course pond a lot lately and I havent caught anything over a pound. I went yesterday and my friend caught a fish that was about 3 pounds. How do I avoid catching the dinks and focus on targeting the bigger fish? Like i said this pond is pretty small and shallow. Thanks!

Thanks everybody for the input and advice! i will be at it again tonight to try and hook up a big bass on a frog. Ive been using a brown/white booyah pad crasher and a bullfrog color bobbys perfect frog.

Hey Everyone! Just had a newbie question. I have recently gotten into bass fishing and I absolutely love it. Im ready to ditch my rod and reel from when i was a kid and want to buy a new setup. I wanna get a fairly affordable rod and reel. I have been thinking about the ugly stik lite 6'6" medium rod and the pflueger president 6935 reel. Is this a good combo? Or would you recommend something else? Also would trilene xl 8# mono work well with that setup? Thanks!
