  1. I've heard LOTS of good things about the Black Max or Silver Max and you'd have money to spare.
  2. OP: take this offer because if you don't, I will. It's a GREAT deal.
  3. Awesome. There are a bunch in the box he gave me, all sorts of colors and sizes.
  4. Very nice fish. I need to get me some swimbaits!
  5. They do have rattles and they seem very solid.
  6. I knew it! My fear/hatred of ALL spiders is justified!
  7. One of my neighbors, Hank, was doing some cleanup of some old tackle and was kind enough to pass some my way. He gave me A LOT of different kinds of very old crankbaits, jerkbaits and spoons. I found these in there and have never seen anything like them and want to know what they are and what sort of application they would be useful in. :edit: looks like I am having trouble attaching pictures from my phone. I'll upload them later when i get home. :edit #2: Pictures now attached.
  8. Looks like you are right. I submitted it to bugguide.net (they will identify pictures of bugs that you submit) and was met with the following: A quick wikipedia check on that genus name and the attached picture shows this is correct!. Thanks for the help guys.
  9. The first thing that jumps out at my rookie fishing eyes are those submerged islands, but I imagine it depends on the the bottom composition.
  10. The nights have been chilly up here. I actually had to wear a jacket when I went out last night/this morning.
  11. You measured the fish? You asked him or the company if he had permission? The one thing he did that you FOR SURE knew was wrong, you didn't mention until just now.
  12. Hmm, the legs look awfully short and the body too rounded to be a corn spider. Also: This guy has a black or brown cephalothorax (the name for the head and thorax, separate from the abdomen).
  13. What? I thought Peacock Bass were the most aggressive bass on the planet and have twice the fight of smallmouth AND grow to be huge? If this is correct, why in the world would you go looking for LMB?
  14. I am taking donations lol. Funds are VERY tight right now and if my wife saw me opening UPS boxes she'd rightfully flip. None of the local places have any jigs I want that I could go drop a couple bucks on. They're working for me, for now.
  15. nope. I am positive he got on while the jig was under water. I was working it pretty slow, dead sticking at times, so I its feasible how he would have had a chance to hop on, just not sure why he would....
  16. Ok, so this isn't quite an other "fish" species, but I "caught" it while fishing. I pulled my jig up to check my tube and as I was doing it, I saw this guy as I was about to grab it. The tube I was using was clear/yellow with blue flakes and this creepy thing was yellow with black spots so he blended right in. I had no idea there were spiders that lived underwater.
  17. I have no personal experience, so I can only go off what I've read. The quick answer is: yes. I've even heard that you can see your bait and watch the fish hit it when you are vertical jigging right under the boat.
  18. Have you seen what they do? Side/down imaging practically gives you an underwater camera.

  20. I can't really read it because, like I said, it's packed too closely together. I am at work and fluorescent lighting makes my eyes "fuzzy" and prone to headaches if I need to strain to read text on a computer screen (odd, given that my job is ON a computer lol). Just go through it quick and throw in a few return key strokes where necessary. It will give the reader here a better feel of how you want it to flow.
  21. I don't know about peeing in a wetsuit, but I had a Drill Sergeant tell us to fart in our Goretex to keep warm. What do you suppose that would attract?
  22. Ahh, I see. i didn't realize this was something you wrote elsewhere. Sorry. Good write up. i have noticed, though, that this board and the way it handles input of text can be finicky. I haven't tried many browsers, but I've often had the cursor jump around when typing a reply or writing a new topic even without me touching the mouse.
  23. You need to break it up more. Double space to indicate paragraphs. While it is obvious you attempt to break it, it still appears jumbled together, making it difficult to read. Also, indents to indicate separate content/paragraphs would help. More criticism to come later .
  24. I'm sorry, I meant that in jest. However, a second re-read makes me realize that it doesn't quite come off as "quippy" as I had intended, so I can see how it may have been construed as somewhat condescending or with ill intent (or even worse: serious). I meant it in no such manner.
  25. Things Bass Fisherman's wives say: "Where the **** have you been??"" "What is that smell???"
