  1. My bait monkey bought me 2 new Curado I reels. Thanks monkey guy.
  2. Maybe this just comes out wrong in text form or...
  3. I can't buy a bite with them on Douglas lake. Some fish just don't like them I guess.
  4. That's a bait keep. Keeps the trailer from rolling or sliding.
  5. T-Rigged worm, red eye shad, swim jig, and jig.
  6. I have Chronarch Es made in Japan, and 2 new Curado Is made in Malaysia. Haven't noticed any difference in feel of quality or craftsmanship. If a company has lax QC then it maybe a problem, but not SHIMANO.
  7. EVA handles and micro guides always win with me if they are an option.
  8. Those are all great choices. Go with the cheapest option.
  9. So they are discontinuing a nice rod and in it's place is gonna be a rod with hip hop graphics all over it? Lol....Silly Abu.
  10. Thanks. As of now, the worm gear still has the factory grease on it until I tear it down.
  11. Usually all of the micro guide Veritas the Sevierville/Kodak store had either had cracked epoxy around the guides, or the anodized collar at the reel seat were badly scraped up. Looked like a used rod rack.
  12. They definitely don't feel as smooth as a Chronarch out of the box. I will fish the Curados tomorrow hopefully. Cleaned the spool shaft and added a dot of oil to the tension cap pad which was bone dry on both reels. My Chronarchs came with a blob of grease on the tension pads so not sure why these were dry. Seemed to smooth the reels out a bit but they will get a full tear down this weekend.
  13. Local BPS no longer carries them at all, and BPS online only has spinning rods. Nice rods though the micro guide version had pretty awful QC.
  14. Yeah Reel Magic sucks. I heard it actually breaks down the line. I love L&L, it's just pricey for what you get.
  15. Big head? You want Oakley Batwolf sunglasses. I have a pair, and a big noggin, and they are perfect for fishing. Pricey though. I have no experience with Coastas, though I hear they are better. Horrible looking frames kept me from straying from Oakley though.
  16. Both of my reels were site to store purchases, and the box that both were shipped in was sealed up so I know it wasn't anyone at the store that nabbed them. Seems the warehouse guy was a clepto though.
  17. 0 Signs the reel in question was used, just that someone at the Warehouse had sticky fingers. Didn't know these brake blocks were in demand...
  18. This is me. When I caught my PB small mouth a couple years ago I had a rush like no other. But in no way did that ruin me from just catching them. Catching a bunch of 2lbers isn't a bad day IMO.
  19. Should I oil the brake pipe and bearing before I fish them?
  20. Pick it out, and cut it off where it's kinked. Fluorocarbon is toast once you get a good bend in the line. Red Label is pretty manageable though, and is a good line. Don't give up on it.
  21. Who is in charge of lubing these things up?? The spool shaft is COATED in a thin grease on both reels and turning the handles on both just don't have that same smoothness as my Chronarch Es do. I plan on cleaning some of this lube out, but my god...I've never seen a reel come this over lubed before and I've had some cheapos. But then I got to thinking, is the spool shaft on these new Curados supposed to HAVE lube on the spool shaft? And should I put a drop of oil on the brake pipe and bearing before I fish it? Oh, and one of my Curado Is had the seal on the box peeled up when I got it. The reel appears to be brand new and unused, but the extra brake blocks are missing. BPS said they didn't have any more leftys but that they would give me some brake blocks out of a righty so no big deal, but this isn't the first time I've bought Shimanos that had seals broken on the box and either oil or brake blocks missing. Shady.
  22. There's too much noise everywhere. No need to bring some with me when I'm trying to relax. Fishing for me is very calming.
