  1. This is one bait that just won't catch fish for me. I've bought a ton of them and tried numerous trailers and presentations, but Douglas Lake bass don't want any part of them. Like you, I throw rattle baits/red eye shad and spinner baits and do well. Chatterbaits though....frustration.
  2. I don't use them anymore. I tried to use them on crankbaits and they sucked. Even after I removed the split ring, the duo locks still threw off the action. Baits with a tight wiggle suffered the most. My red eye shads went from fish catching monsters to "why the hell am I not catching any" with those things on.
  3. I have a separate zip lock bag for baits that I take off. Its my used bait bag. As long as they aren't torn up I save them for another time.
  4. Yep. If you do a lot of deep cranking you need to be able to get some nice distance. We do a lot of long lining out here on Douglas Lake so it's not a major deal if my reels don't toss them a mile but it is nice.
  5. I feel the same way about LCs. The paint jobs on the Norman cranks are fantastic. Great color selection too.
  6. Oh I'm planning on it. Might take it to work and cast around out back during lunch lol.
  7. Yeah the solid click is what I've experienced with the Chronarchs. It just feels well made to me.
  8. I got 2 201s. And yeah I reel lefty lol.
  9. How are the thumb bars on these compares to the E? On my chronarchs the thumb bars have stayed solid with no slop in them. Hated how mushy the Revos thumb bars were out of the box and how bad they became over time.
  10. Square bills for sure.
  11. Thanks. They are gonna get the tick fondled out of them when I get them though lol.
  12. Can't go wrong with Lew's. For a little more though, you could get the new Curado I. Everyone is flipping their lids over them here so I ordered 2. Apparently they are the second coming at $179.
  13. Yeah i've got the Yamamtos and they are soft and not very durable at all. I may try them wacky rigged I guess. They just look so life less compared to the ribbon or u tailed worms I usually use. I thought rage rigging them would be a good idea as they would "wobble" on the way down.
  14. Good job for helping the kid out. That's what makes and keeps this site great. Hope it works out for both of you.
  15. Of course I T-Rig these, but they don't really have any action to them at all that way. I've thought of rage rigging them, but not sure how well that would do. What's a good way to use these things?
  16. Ok good. He's been here for awhile, plus guys on here are honest and try to help each other out. Let us know when you get it.
  17. Sadly they won't be here until next week, then I have to work all weekend. It will be 2 weeks before I can fish them! I'm gonna go nuts. And why in THE hell didn't Shimano release this reel in a 5:5:1 lefty? I don't mind cranking with a 6:3:1, but toss 6XDs all day and it wears you out if it's not geared for cranking.
  18. The 5:5:1 is righty only. I reel southpaw.
  19. The Chronarch Es have been great to me over the past year and half with 0 issues, so hopefully these are tanks as well. Pairing these up with my Crucials.
  20. He's a kid with money burning a hole in his pocket lol. I think he finally settled on a BPS Pro Qualifier.
  21. Yes a Pro Qualifier is said to be really good reel without breaking the bank. Plus it has an aluminum frame which is what you want for what you wanna use it for.
  22. Just snagged 2 of them. I really wish they had the lefty in a 5:5:1 but oh well. 6:3:1 will have to do.
  23. Just nabbed 2 of these off of BPS.com. Had a $20 promo code I applied to them and stuck them on 6 pay. I really hope they are as good as everyone on here is saying. Coming from a Chronarch E they have some big shoes to fill.
  24. I have 3 and yes...they are amazing.
