How many year loan can you get on a Triton
There are only two things in this world that I would ever consider taking out a 15 year loan to finance. 1- My home 2- My daughter's college education To me, no boat, car, or other toy is worth that much of my life. I fish out of a 1977 16 ft. sea nymph, and I'm just as happy as the guy in the $35K Triton. I catch as many, or more fish than many of the guys in the high $ boats, and I don't have a payment that follows me around for 12 months/year.

WOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PICS ARE UP!!
Thanks, I'm guessing 40 or a little over. It runs great, and I'm almost more excited about the power tilt/ trim cause no I can adjust the ride to where its smooth as glass, even on fairly rough water. The boat is rated for a max of 70HP, and I'm quit happy with the performance so I guess I'll stick with this one for a while.

Solo Launch at the Boat Ramp
No, it's not that. It's just that that lake water is awfully cold, if you get my drift ;D ;D ;D

question on motors
The best kind of motor is the free kind. I'd say try it, if you're not happy with the 6 horse you can always upgrade and sell the old motor to finance a newer / larger one. I used a 6 horse on my old 12' aluminum. It was slow, but I always got to where I wanted to go.

Solo Launch at the Boat Ramp
OK, Heres the drill. 1 While in the parking lot, remove all tie downs , etc. and unhook bow strap. Attach bow strap to bow rope. 2 Back down the ramp, far enough to float boat off trailer, and out into the water. (15' rope attached to trailer strap keeps boat from disappearing) 3 pull forward far enough to detach rope from trailer strap, and tie boat off somewhere close, but out of the way of other launchers. 4 Park truck, take a pee at the bathroom(last chance!!) 5 Go catch some fish. I can usually launch quicker by myself than others do in a group. It tends to annoy me when these clowns are fiddling around with stuff that they could have taken care of in the parking lot. BTW they're usually much worse when pulling their boat OUT of the water. A little common sense and courtesy can go a long way.

- WOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PICS ARE UP!!
I finally found a motor to replace the aging 1976 55 HP Chrysler on my 16' Sea nymph bass boat. The Chrysler runs perfect, but sure doesn't have much power. I replaced it with a 1991 Johnson 70 HP with power t/t. HOLY CRAP Batman what a difference!!! I put it in the water this morning and have had a serious case of perma grin ever since. The new motor has gobs of power, runs way quieter, and it even consumes about 1/2 the gas as the Chrysler. The compression on the Johnson is 128# on all three cylinders and I did put a new impeller on before I hit the lake. This thing runs GREAT!! One thing I did though is I scrapped the VRO in favor of pre-mix. When I ran the motor the low oil alarm sounded. Does anyone know how to shut that thing up?? OH yeah, Idid manage to boat & largemouths in the 2-1/2 hrs I spent on the water!!! What a great day!!!! The pics are after some cleanup, and I put on the new decals that came with the motor- Quiting tobacco chewing..
Istarted chewing Copenhagen in 1978, and ended up with a 1 can per day habit. On Feb. 5, 2005 I took my last chew. Basically I was just tired of being controlled by it. The only trick I used was any time I craved a chew, I told myself "thats not who you are anymore" I was able to believe that, and seriously, the whole thing was fairly effortless. I am however, aware that If I decide to take just one dip ever, I will again be hooked, so I don't even consider doing it.- Peoples court-bad decision-tuna charter
I saw that episode too, and I have a slightly different take on the matter. I hunt and fish for the fun and for the food. I couldn't care less about a trophy. That being said, I believe the customer feels the same way, If I'm going to catch a fish that enriches ONLY the Captain of that boat, I'd rather cut the line and go after something I can eat. Laws aside, when I charter a boat, I OWN that boat and crew for the day, and If my Captain takes me out after giant bluefin he'd d**n well better explain to me that the catch is his, and his alone. After he explains that I can make my decision as to what I want to do in MY (charter) boat. I don't care What he wants to do, I paid my money, and therefore I own that boat. I guess it just comes down to a lack of communication, but I believe that the Captain holds most of the responsibility for not being more forthcoming with the infomation regarding catch limits, and ownership.- More Floor ?s
I have a 1978 16 ft. sea nymph bass boat. It's a Vee hull with full floor, console, and front/ rear decks. I'm gonna replace the carpet soon, and am wondering if i can eliminate some of the flooring beneath the decks in order to save weight. The existing floor is 1/2" plywood, and the decks are 5/8. i'm mostly worried about the strength and rigidity of the hull, if I start remving flooring. Does anyone have any suggestions?- Why use braid?
BRAID.I love the stuff, it casts well, very limp, virtually no memory or line twist. I fish a lot of thick lilies and such, and the braided has never let me down. The largest fish I've caught have all been on braided line, and I don't believe I've ever lost a lure that was attached to braided line.- Occupations/members

I went through the same thing last year when I bought my 16 ft. Sea Nymph bass boat. It's aluminum with front and rear decks and a 55 H.P. Chrysler. This thing will barely plane at full throttle with just me in the boat. The motor is in perfect condition and I have re propped to no avail. The info I got from the prop shop is that Chryslers were rated at the powerhead, whereas others were rated at the prop. Which in effect means that my 55HP is the equivalent of a 40 HP johnson/rude. Also, fuel consumption is ASTRONOMICAL at about 2MPG @ WOT. There really doesn't seem to be any cure, other than a different motor. Sorry for the bad news....Joe - WOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!! PICS ARE UP!!
