Alligator alley water levels
Junebug, watermelon red, black, and Okeechobee are great colors for the Alley. Stick-o, U-vibe, fluke, trick worm, are great baits out there. Texas rig the stick-o, weightless fluke vary the cadence with some long pauses. Trick worm wacky, can use a wacky jig head with weed guard. I also use jigs with rage craws. Just a few baits and techniques from a long time Alley fisherman. Good luck!

Loxahatchee Saturday 1/13/18
Loxahatchee Saturday 1/13/18 7:00-11:00 Partly Cloudy Pre-front conditions Partly Cloudy Water stained 67* Wind NW 5-15 Picked up Rick and went to the South Ramps along Lox Road. Ran west several miles and fished the flats along the spoil bank. Went through the second cut fishing a Horny Toad. Caught a nice bass on the third cast. Rick was fishing a swimbait and had a follower but could not hook up. We thought the top water bite might be the trick up it stopped quickly. We switched to plastics and slowed way down. The bite was slow but steady. They did not want to chase a bait, but rather a slow steady move along the bottom that got the bites. You could barely feel the bite, just a small thud, and a slow movement was all you got. Around 9:00 I felt a small tick, and thought it could be grass. I took up slack and set the hook, I had a 22.2 inch fat bass, about 6 pounds. I got her head up, and kept it above the heavy grass. Around the same time, and in the same area, Rick caught a nice fatty in the same small 30 yards. We ended the day at 11:00, as the wind really started to blow hard. We boated 18 fish, one big Hawg, a number of fatties, and one double with synchronized hook sets. It was a nice relaxing day, with good company.

New to miramar/pembroke are
Lots of water, bass, and peacock all through out the area. Hit the lakes around your area. Water behind Publix on Flamingo. CB smith park has a good supply of bass. There is another park out west on Sheraton. The possibilities are endless. Look for areas with a little current. Look for little canals flowing into big canals.

Alligator alley water levels
Good luck, it will be tough but you may catch an occasional fish. When the water finally drops fishing will get crazy out there.

Skunked. But, I did go.
Tough for almost everyone right now.

Alligator alley water levels
Water is still up. Fish have unlimited access to the food rich flats. Not many reports coming from out there. Water has to drop big time before the fishing picks up out there. If yo go give us a report on the outing.

co-angler missing, FLW Okeechobee
Glen we understand and appreciate your thoughts on this event. It is also important for us, that sometimes fish the lake, to understand the details of this accident. Knowledge is truth!

co-angler missing, FLW Okeechobee
It is official the missing man has been found.

Cadaver dogs would be the best help in thick floating mats. They will smell what you can't see.

co-angler missing, FLW Okeechobee
A big problem with the search is the wind will not only blow the body around, but also floating mats that may cover the body in yards of thick green stuff. The body may just not be visible through the cover, and its now a race before the wildlife arrive. Once the wind dies down, cadaver dogs on search boats would be a big help in finding the body. They will alert on the slightest smell, and very successful in searches throughout the country. FLW could certainly provide assets to get these recovery teams here to help with the search.

co-angler missing, FLW Okeechobee
Big O is a massive body of water and because it is so shallow, it can produce big waves quickly. The wind action also pushes large quantities of water from side to side depending on wind direction. Area that were safe for navigation can become too shallow because the water was blown out. Rocks in between waves lengths can be exposed, that are usually safe on calm days. It is also easy to get disoriented, especially if your electronics go out. Compass reading, and visual sightings, are always a good back up. The lake is bigger then most can imagine the first time you journey out into open water. It is truely an inland sea. Lake O and bad weather is a rough and sometimes dangerous combination. God bless the family of both anglers. I hope they find the missing man so the family has some closure. It is a sad time for all of us that love the sport.

Rant
Thanks guys for the video. I enjoyed watching regardless of what techniques you are using. There are many ways to catch bass on any given day, and any body of water. I enjoyed the lack of senseless music that sometime blasts in others videos. Keep doing what your doing and people will watch.

Canal shoreline fishing -West Palm Beach
Find bodies of water with commercial and industrial property adjacent. Residential properties are less likely to allow access. People get nervous with strangers around. There is water all over the place, just research the area. Start on google earth and then on foot from there. Lots of water bodies along the turnpike, with joining access roads. You have to be an explorer.

How many here have caught a 10lb+ bass and in what state?
An 11.4 in Loxahatchee Preserve 30 years ago, an another possibly bigger but no scale that day, in a small deep pond. Both were Florida fish.

Where in Florida should I go for big pond bass?
Any established body of water will have some big bass in it. Smaller bass are quicker to react to a bait, so you just need to be patient and persistent. We don't know your location, so go on google earth, and check all water bodies in your area. Look for waters with some depth changes, vegetation, and some current from culverts, run off areas, and bridges. Work the weed lines, drop-offs, and fall downs, hard. Lots of fall downs after the hurricanes. Wear a good pair of leather boots, and look where you walk. Snakes will be around in some areas. Good luck!

US 27, Everglades??
Anytime the bass can escape to the food rich grass flats, fishing in the canals will be tough. The flats at Loxahatchee will still produce, especially going into the spawn, and you can maneuver back to get some. The canals in the Holey Lands might be good, since the bass are locked into the high banks. They have no flats to wander off into. The only down side there, is dodging the bullets.

Determining the Color of Local Crawfish
I doubt the color would matter that much. Throw any craw into the mix and if a hungry bass is there, it will grab it.

Back to Lox
Lox Road Ramps Sunday 12/3/17 6:30-10:30 Sunny Water Temp 73* Clarity Clear Wind NE 4-10 Went this morning solo. Noticed right away that the water was up from last week. The Big O has dropped over a foot recently, and they must be pumping it south into Lox and the glades conservation areas. Ran west and fished back to the east. Started with a Rage Craw with little interest. Then went to a U-Vibe pulling in a couple of bass close to the spoil bank. Went to a weightless senko and produced good numbers but not much size. Long casts helped some, if you could stay off the T/M. Fluke, frog, and swimbait got little interest today. There were some guys flipping the north wall and didn't see any action up there from them. Finished the day early with 13 caught, a gar, and a mudfish. Numbers were good for a short trip, but not much size. Biggest bass was about 1.5 lb. Beautiful day, not much boat traffic, and no signs of bedding bass anywhere I fished today. I thought this super moon might put them in the mood. Should not be long if the weather cooperates.

When I lived in Ohio, Lake Erie was great, especially in the Sandusky area.
