With all of the good things I've been hearing here and a fishing buddy who has used him for a couple of years I just sent in 9. A couple of old round Abu's that have been sitting around here for years I hope to put to use this spring and trying a super tune on a Curado.

I own both the medium and medium heavy and the MH will be perfect for your uses. I use the medium as my "ultralight" casting rod. I spool up with 20# superslick and cast 3/16 oz bass jigs or even 1/8 if I have the wind at my back. You will love your new rod and also the lifetime warranty

Great review. I bought a 7' Avid medium power last year and loved it so much I ordered a 7' MH and a 7'H over the holidays where I could get 20% off. I took advantage of the same deal you did and am waiting on my Rage 7 1/2' crankbait rod. All in all a great deal for me, 2 avids and a rage for $300. I can barely wait to give them a workout on a planned mid April trip to southern Iowa.
