If you are using spinning tackle for smallies, the Shimano Sienna 4000 is a nice reel and i would recommend that one on a nice 7 ft gloomis rod if the money is there. Tight lines

I fished Wisconsin river last year, my wife is from there and was smallie fishing but all i caught were Walleye. They seem to be faster and more hungry than the smallmouth, but had a blast great fun. Plenty of lakes to fish in wisconsin also.

I like to wear mostley columbia stuff in the winter.

I keep it simple, football jigs for leges and swim jigs for shallow water.

I love the hair jigs and craws with bang scent applied to them.I
