  1. To find out if you got what it takes to get the eyes and ears of sponsors you have to be able to sell product as well as educated, go to your local tackle shop offer to work a sale promotion they might be having, usually on weekends, wont interfere with school, it will give you a chance to see what kind of salesman you are and also the store can give you a good reference, word of mouth goes along way when its good.give it some thought when talking to the store manager you have to be able to sell yourself first, be professional, and set goals so high you can't reach them. good luck
  2. Here is a suggestion for younger Anglers to start getting their name out. Go to a local tackle shop, ask them when they are having a big sale on or promotion , offer to work( for free) the sale weekend helping customers to select product, be cheerful, helpfull, and talk fishing not only what you caught and done but listen to them, sponsorship is not only being able to fish! but being able to sell product.
  3. Thanks I am Hoping that the fish gods are good to us come time, and all my experience from ontario pays off with some fish that at least put us on the board. Finding info in forums has been limited for washington lakes although the info we have gotten so far is good, fishing in ontario the seasons start at the end of june, so early spring fishing is a new game for me. just have to take all the advice in and sort it out on the water as we go.
  4. This past fall my son and I decided to try out the TBF Dream team Ralleys we fished 2 of them, Both events in different states, the first one was not the greatest, one set of rules as to off limits on water, then the day of the event the limits lifted because a local pro whinned about his hot spots being in the off limit area, well guess what he won, I thought these events were supposed to for anglers wanting a chance to fishstep up. The second one was very well run and lots of info shared about the lake from everyone, although rules were bent about late entries, there was a deadline, and registrations were taken at last minute, again a local pro last minute entry and again he was the winner. I agree with may the best angler win, but rules should be enforced, and not bent for the local pro, if the pro's want to fish ok but follow the rules that are layed out for everyone
