Every rod I use is a LTB. I personally like the reel seats and as for the tip being in the "heavy" side, I find that I don't have to swing as hard to get a good hook set.

I like Twitchtail Minnows, Crosstail Shads, Fat Roboworms.

I'd like to see this done with a J Knot vs Uni to Uni vs Alberto

Using a knot gives you the ability to have a much longer leader.

Couldn't agree more about the TBS610MLXF. Its defiantly one of my favorite rods I own. That 7lb piggy in my pic was caught on one.

To be honest, the fight was kind of mediocre until it got right to the boat. I almost lost it because as soon as my friend went to net it he hit the line with the side of the net.

Caught it earlier today on Muskrat Lake. Rod: St Croix Legend Tourny dropshot rod Reel: 1000 sized Shimano Ci4+ with 10lb PP super slick and a 8lb InvisX leader Weight: just a hair over 7lbs on a Boga Grip Lure: 1/4oz with a KVD Dream Shot in Dirt color (Very nice color, the green and orange mix make for a really nice perch imitation)

Dropshot a twitchtail minnow in the same baitfish pattern or try a spybait.

So I've made my mind up on a swimbait rod (TBC710HF). Max weight ill probably use is about 3oz for lures. Whatbsize shimano reel should I get and what would be a good line size to spool it with?

Get the Abrazx, its less stretchy and has better abrasion resistance.

It looks like its long strands of grass growing out of the bottom of the lake, and there is tons of it. Nothing on the surface of the water, but there is only an inch or so of water before the tops of the hydrilla start.

So pretty much just slither it through the hydrilla? There is ALOT of this stuff.

So I fish SMB like 90% of the time and the other 10% of the LMB are caught when I'm fishing for SMB. I fish rip rap, boulders, shevles, cliff faces and anything to do with structure for SMB. My friend and I caught wind of a lake close by that has some really nice LMB but we couldn't catch a thing. I tried pitching T-Rigs, Swim Jigs you name it we tried it. The lake was full of I think Hydrilla (will post a picture of it). How do you fish this stuff? Everytime our lures would just get lost in the cover and the LMB's wouldn't even get a chance to see it. Any tips for us next time we're on this lake?

Think about this, will you really need 150 yrds? fill like 1/3 of it with a cheap mono, leaving you with about 100 yrds of braid. As for half full and casting, if its a baitcaster, then yes. Spinning reel not 100% sure, but I wouldn't think so.

When the new Gen 3's were released, there was lots of problems. Not just the STX either.

I'd go with a 1000 size, you dont need the extra lung capacity.
