I've boycotted deep diving crankbaits and just stick to squarebills. I use a St Croix Legend Tournament Bass "Big Cranker" with a Metanium 6.2:1 spooled with 40lb PP SS with a 15lb Tatsu leader. I like the Arashi squarebills/wakebaits and keep the stock hooks. I'll also throw KVD 1.5 and 2.5's and switch the hooks out to a shorter shank treble.

Hmmm the Owner jungles are a straight eye,I figured the snell knot would be better.

Just figured it out, I was trying to do the wraps into the loop so I had no room to make them because of the bait keeper.

Anyone got any tips/better knot for tying onto a t-r8g setup? I'm using Owner Jungle hooks but I'm having trouble making the wraps for the knot because of the bait keeper.

How long do you try to get a lure unstuck? in a tournament? pass time fishing? When it comes to tournament fishing, I don't waste more then about 5 minutes trying to get a lure unstuck regardless of how much the lure costs. I feel that time is one of your biggest ally when it comes to winning a tournament. When it comes to just fishing for fun, i'll try and try and try until its freed, especially when its a $20+ lure

You can always use a demel tool to modify a mold.
