Spring Bass
Agreed 100%, although my question isn't what bass do in cold waters or which places they are affected more than others. I'm asking why would increase in temperature (spring) not cause more action? Maybe just too early in spring for a big difference.

Spring Bass
Irrelevant, winter is winter, a dramatic decrease in temperature will make fish less active, so the increase of temperature and the climate change for spring should make the bass fishing more eventful now than in last winter. Just curious why it isn't.

How To Land That Monster Bass
If you want monster bass you should give a baitcaster a chance, I use medium action custom rod with my Daiwa AIRD, a baitcaster can hold a lot heavier line without despoiling like a spinning reel does, I have 17lb big game fluoro on mine, never snaps on me! And it's easier to afjust the drag on a baitcaster as well

How To Land That Monster Bass
8+ lb bass is a large bass still. I count them as nice fish, anyone should. My largest is 14lb but have caught countless bass over 10lbs which are picture worthy to me!

How To Land That Monster Bass
The thing about bass shaking heads out of water isn't a worry of snapping the line but shaking the hook, good post though!

How To Land That Monster Bass
Just work with the bass, let him get tired and just bring him on home! Take nice pics and put him back. If you hoarse the bass, you'll wind up ripping his check or lip creating a big hole, therefore when he jumps to shake the hook, you better believe that hooks comin out! Gluck and keep your lines tight!

Co Angler Blues....
I have a local bass tournament this Sunday, and it's my first competitive bass fishing I've done yet, and I'm going to be co angling, but not as partners with the boat owner, ever man for himself kind of deal, and I know that if I were controlling boat movement , I'd probably come in first, but with my techniques, it calls for a lot of sittin still , but what if the boat owner drifts with a crank bait while I'm fishin Texas rig? Just curious how a co angler pulls it off sometimes? Any tips to help me this weekend?
