  1. I would have, but.........................................................that is my father-in-law! He kinda help me get the boat and I am usually with him. However, he was digging for his crankbait after he saw me catch mine! ;D
  2. I had posted earlier about how to fish after some severe storms. Well, it was a successful day on the lake! I caught two bass, one 3 lb largemouth and 2 lb smallmouth, both were caught with a crankbait. Which was a first for me. I always used soft baits in the past, but reading about using crankbaits here have tried them from time to time. I used the information from the articles and posts and feel that it greatly helped me on my quest! Now just hope I can get the photo to show up! LOL! Thanks again to everyone here!
  3. Spawn is definately near. My father-in-law went to our "honey" hole and caught a 6 or 7 lbs earlier this week. Was full of eggs. He got her back in water quickly. Didn't take photo. May try the same place tomorrow. Been wanting to try a new area of lake, just have to go for something new.
  4. Here is Middle Tenn. we just had a serious line of storms come through with the "L" front. Today, the winds are still kicking pretty good, but tomorrow is suppose to be sunny skies and around 65 or so. Will this be a good time to hit the water? If so, what type of lure should be used? Thanks
  5. We use to in the past keep what we caught. About four to five years ago, we started the catch and release. Now if we are planning a huge fish fry for family, we take the kids and do alot of bream and crappie fishing. It is kinda like managing a deer herd. You have to take out a few does and smaller bucks to maintain a good "big" buck population. We are thinking of keeping a few smaller legal bass and returning the bigger ones. However, until then or learn some other method, we will just release the bass altogether.
  6. RoLo...those are two good ones. Will have to add them as well. LBH...will do on letting you know what I come up with.
  7. LBH...great info. I have also did the search for past posts and gotten several other good ideas from them. I just hope I didn't bother anyone with posting the question since there are at least to other post threads with similair questions.
  8. Wanting to start a fishing log. What are some information that would be good to have on a log for future reference?
  9. Very kewl pics. Once I start catching bass like that I can start doing pics like that. ;D
  10. Well, at least I was on the lake. Tried several different things and different presentations. Real winding though, I am going to blame that for the lack of bass! ;D
  11. Heading out with the advice and will let you know how it goes. May end up on a different lake later. Let's go fishing!
  12. Mine was while I was deer hunting in ALA. Go figure. Was taking a lunch break at the cabin and went to the pond where my step-son was catching a few. I got mine around 12:30 pm. It is the one in photo to the left. Now, if I can only do that on the lake!
  13. Going fishing today and kinda looking for some advice. Hopefully give enough info to help understand... Today is cool 55-60 mostly cloudy with north to northwest winds 5-10 mph. Lake is relatively shallow with a few deep pockets. Heard water temp is around 52-55 degrees. Been told people have caught bass with carolina rig and some with crank-bait. What kind of advice could be given with this information, if any. Taking step-son and this will be our first time exclusively bass fishing on new (to our family) boat. Will have to give update upon returning. Thanks again for a great forum and people!
