  1. Thank Tom. Flipping and pitching is my favorite technics
  2. I live in so cal. I'm going on a trip in June. I'm just putting the feelers out their so I don't go up the blind. I'd like to have a little info on the river. Ex. Baits colors things like that.
  3. Always up for that. That's a good tip. Have you fished goose lake
  4. Ill be going south of Davis dam. The topac area. If you look at a areal map of the river it's by goose lake.
  5. Hey guys how's it. So I'd like a little help on fishing a river system. I'm taking a trip up to the Colorado river later this month and I'd like any pointers or tips before I head up their. The area I'm going is near bullhead city, topac area. Has anybody fished that area maybe can recommend baits/colors to use. Thank you.
  6. When your fishing from a boat your constantly using muscles your not normally use to using. Try to incorporate workouts at the gym that will target the stabilizing muscles in you back. You don't really think about it when your on the water fishing but its a total work out physically and mentally. Good luck.
  7. When I'm on the water I'm usually to in the mode and don't eat. But never the less I always bring plenty of water, some kind of fruit, and snack bars. I'm a foody as well but when I'm on the water I try to bring healthy food that will keep my energy level up and attention in the game.
  8. Yeah they put backing on the reel when they put the braid on. I think papajoe2222 is right I think the diameter of the braid is to small and it was digging in on itself. The braid I used was power pro 20 lb. the reel was a shammano and I was throwing a spinnerbait. Yeah like I said I have other bait casters that have the same braid and no problems. I just thought it was weird that it kept happening over and over again Thanks for the comments guys. All info is good info.
  9. Is their a wrong way to put on braided line on a bait caster? I had braid put on my bait caster the other day. When I went out fishing today it keep backlashing. I set the brake and the tension knob to the bait i was using and it still back lashed about every other cast. I have other reels that I fish with braid and I have no problem casting. Thanks for the input guys.
  10. Great responses guys, I think that if getting to the bottom is key to the technic then Lead would be fine, but if the conditions warrent to have more sensitivity, then tungsten would be a better option. Next time I go out I'm going to experiment with it. Thanks again for the input.
  11. Okay simple question. Does it matter if you use tungsten or led when you drop shot? This question is only for this specific technique
