River System (Colorado River)

Featured Replies

Hey guys how's it. So I'd like a little help on fishing a river system. I'm taking a trip up to the Colorado river later this month and I'd like any pointers or tips before I head up their. The area I'm going is near bullhead city, topac area. Has anybody fished that area maybe can recommend baits/colors to use.

Thank you.

What's your target species?  I have a friend who is a Colorado Native but he targets trout mostly when he's back home.

Ill be going south of Davis dam. The topac area. If you look at a areal map of the river it's by goose lake.

If you get thirsty or hungry check out Pirate's Cove...It's right on the river by Goose Lake...Fun place to get out of the sun for awhile

Bullhead is across the river from Laughlin gaming resorts, not where you want to fish.

Should be in the 100's, hot during the mid day, you need sun protection; wide rim hat and sunscreen and lots of water. You also need a boat! Try to buddy up or plan on hiring a guide.

Lots of to tollies (bull rushes) flipping/ pitching your best best for LMB where you plan to fish, further down into lake Havasu is world class smallmouth fishing, open rocky deep water.

The desert lakes are unforgiving with hot summer sun and occasional high winds.

Good luck.
