  1. Thanks for the responses everyone. Looks like I will be getting a 1/2 ton.
  2. I will be heading down to college in the fall and I will hopefully be bringing an 18 foot glass boat with me. I am trying to decide on a tow vehicle, with a budget of about $5,000. Will I get better gas mileage with a midsize SUV such as a Jeep or TrailBlazer or would I be better off with a 1/2 ton truck? I will be towing 2-3 times per week, taking the occasional trip to Kentucky Lake(250mi each way). Would a midsize SUV be able to safely stop a boat without trailer brakes?

  5. I also like the Yamamoto Flappin Hog, I normally use it as a jig trailer when I want a bigger profile. I also like the NetBait B-Bug.
  6. My favorite drop shot bait is the Poor Boy's Jr Erie Darter, but I also like the Yamamoto Shad Shape Worm and the Fat Roboworms. I fish them on 6lb Invisx and a #2 octopus hook.
  7. I have been keeping a fishing log for a couple years now and it has helped me notice some patterns. For example I have noticed that in one chain of lakes the fish bite better on one side of the lake than the other in certain conditions and times of year. I have also noticed that some lakes in the area produce well early in the year but get worse as the the year goes on and vice versa.
  8. Hello all, I have been looking around the Bass Resource website for a few months now and I finally decided to join. It looks like a great place to be. I have been bass fishing my whole life. I currently fish the Northern Indiana/ Southwest Michigan area and fish several tournaments in the area. I am looking forward to some great discussions on here.
