I was wondering if anyone has ever fished Lake Howard in Sylacauga, AL?

I have Zoom Super Swimmin' Fluke in White Pearl. How would I go about rigging this up?

Anywhere from24" to the biggest ice seen was about 30" or so.

Will definitely try the mepps spinner. I think I am a pretty loud fisherman in my opinion. I have flukes, but never even thought about that logic about bringing into the white water. Will definitely try this out in the morning. Any other lures that might work? I've tried a 1.5 in multiple colors, and actually walked that rocky middle to get one back. Thanks, Robert

I've thrown about everything in my tackle box at this area and always go home empty handed. I have seen pictures of people pulling out decent size stripers and hybrid stripes. Any advice or tips? The water is a clear/ little cloudy. Either side of the rock line is a pool thats about 8-12 feet deep at any given time. Thanks, Robert

I was just wondering what are some of your favorite lures and or live bait to use, and would recommend having on you at all times.

Thanks man. I didn't try any of those lures yet. How would you work the trick worm? Raise the rod tip and reel in the slack in? Or just slow roll it on the bottom.

2/0 Hooks, U-Tail Worms in Watermelon seed and Motoroil Chartreuse. There is way to much brush in the river to fish any type of crankbait. I have lost many of them and this how I know.

I shore fish, until I can find the time and weather perfect to paint the boat.

Non-tidal. I am in Alabama. I will post the introduction as soon as possible. Paul, I have tried a spinnerbait in every color and blade combination possible. These fish out here don't bite at anything other than a nightcrawler it seems like, and I don't want to waste more money on fishing tackle than I already have, with that being said, I have lost multiple crankbaits to the rivers. I think I also have a problem with feeling the bite. I watch all these videos of people ripping the bass out of the water as soon as they see them, but I don't know exactly what I am suppose to be feeling for. Fish or tree or rock, I can't tell a difference.

Hello Everyone, How would I go about fishing a river? What all lures could I throw out there and get bit and not hung? The river is fairly wide, fast flowing for the moment because of the heavy rains, but is usually just a casual flow. I tried a texas rigged U-Tail worm in motoroil/chartreuse color and watermelon seed colors. Still nothing. Thanks for the input and if I left anything important out, just ask. Thank, Templeton

Thanks everyone for the welcoming. Now I bought a Abu Garcia black max rod and reel combo, and used Berkley Trilene XL Armor Coated 10lb test. They didn't have any of the rods listed because they were out of stock. I also bought zoom U-tail worms in these colors: Motor oil/chartreuse, watermelon, tequila green, chartreuse pepper and June bug. Any other brand that is better than zoom?

I am looking for a good rod and reel combo for this upcoming spring. Any Suggestions? And also which color of plastic worms work well in clear to murky water? Thanks, Rob
