Tournament Launch Question
Was wondering how much time I should leave between boats when doing a launch order for a tournament. We normally do around 15 seconds between boats, but thats on ponds. We are holding one on a river, so is 15 seconds between boats enough time to seperate anglers, or is that too long or too short? Any input is appreciated.

Check Your Local Wallyworld
I was rummaging through the bargain bin and found a pack of tungsten weights that were marked down to 5.00. I only wanted the one pack, so when I went to get rung up, the lady told me everything in the box was .50 cents! Needless to say, I walked out with 18 packages of strike king tour grade tungsten, wacky hooks, drop shot hooks, and treble hooks for 11.00. Felt bad for not leaving a darn thing worth anything for anyone else to buy lol.

Roboworms
I am baffled by the amount of negative responses on roboworms. Not saying anything is wrong with having that opinion, I just have had so much success on the 6 inch straight tail that it's hard for me to fathom so much dislike for these lol. However, one thing negative about them that is absolute truth is they tear up easily. I don't mind that because I catch fish with them and they are a true floating worm. I fish them primarily on a shaky head since I don't drop shot hardly, and I do pretty well. I like to use the shaky heads that have the weight not fixed to the hook, That way you get more action out of your worm. After you catch a fish you will probably have to put a drop of super glue on the head of the worm to keep it up on the keeper, and if it tears up, put it aside for when the fishing gets tough and you need a smaller presentation. Just rip the torn piece of worm off, and now you have a 3-4 inch worm. So I get multiple uses out of them. My absolute favorite color is ehlers edge. Its like a watermelon seed and a blue bottom and tail. To me, I think it looks a lot like a baby bluegill in the water. Btw, I'm not sponsored in any way by roboworm, just a weekend warrior who thinks they deserve some credit.

Lessons You've Learned The Hard Way!
The biggest lesson i have learned about fishing is to not be lazy. I lost many nice fish by being too lazy to retie, or too lazy to make sure my drag is set correctly resulting in break offs. It only takes a minute to retie and just a few seconds to adjust your drag. Lesson learned!

Beginner From Ohio Need A Little Help
Hey, just thought I would put my two cents in and hopefully help. If your going to be fishing the river, I would def get crawfish themed baits. If the water is really stained or muddy go with dark colors like black or black/blue or a very bright color like firetiger. You will want to have some white, green pumpkin and a white/chartreuse for the clearer areas of water. Those colors will get you by, but what you want to do is research what type of crawfish are in the river and try to imitate there colors as well. You don't need to break the bank onthe real expensive baits...get yourself some shallow running crankbaits(2-4ft) a few medium diving cranks (4-8ft) and a few deep diving cranks (8+) just get 3 different colors of each depth so you are prepared for any depth/water clarity situation. Expect to spend 5-6 dollars, but I like the strike king products because there good baits at a reasonable price....then just take these colors and just get different types of baits like spinner baits, vibrating and swim jigs, and some rat-l-traps, otherwise known as lipless crankbaits. Buy what you can afford, because its not the price of the bait that catches fish, its the angler behind it...I would suggest using one type of bait until you feel comfortable with it, then try another. The more confident you are with a bait, the more fish you will catch with it...hope this helps

Making A Club
youll also need to buy a measuring board as well to measure fish, not very expensive either.

Making A Club
If your looking to start a club for you and your buddies that are of the same age group, it is pretty easy and not very costly. You really only need to buy yourself a scale to weigh fish. Whether you get a nicer scale that allows you to weigh fish in a basket or just a digital hand scale where you can weigh fish in a bag(make sure its at least a 50 lb digital scale and that its a bag made for transporting fish, not a trashbag). However, if this is the plan, I would take the advice given by the others and just try and start a HS fishing team, you will get much more out of it that way. If your trying to start a club with grown men, then you will want to find a responsible adult who is willing to run it. No offense, adults will more than likely not join a club ran by a 15 year old, but thats just my opinion. Either one you decide on, just type up some bylaws outlining the rules and regulations of the club, figure out yearly dues and how much each tournament entry will be. There really isnt much money needed at all to start a club, just need to have time to invest into it to make sure it is run properly. My recommedation is however the same as the others, HIGH SCHOOL TEAM...GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide

Need Help With Fishing Shallow Ponds
I live in DE, and most of our waters around here are very shallow, most of them 5-6 ft deep on average, with your occasional 8 ft hole. I know with large lakes and rivers where you get vast differences in depths it can be easier to put yourself on fish, but what things would you guys look for when your fishfinder is only good for temp and reading structure since the water is so shallow. BTW, I am new to fishfinders so I am learning how to read them properly. For instance, I am going to be fishing a pond on tuesday that has a max depth of 4 ft and is about 80 acres in size. you can walk the whole pond basically. There is not much change in structure at all. However, this place has an overabundance of lily pads in the warmer months. I have done well here the couple times I have fished this place, but there really has not been any method to my madness, just luck I guess. I have tried to match where I caught my fish to a topo map, but the topo's of these ponds here leave a lot to be desired and really dont help show me why I may have caught fish there instead of another spot. I hope someone can help spread a little light on the subject for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

New Member From Dover, De
Hello everyone, or at least the few people that read the intro's lol. I came to this site after watching Glenn's (bassresource) videos on youtube. His videos have answered so many of my questions that still remained after watching hundreds of other videos, simply because of his teaching methods. Anyways, my name is Jeremy, and I am from Dover, DE. I am happily married with 2 children and make my living as a barber. I got into bass fishing about 3 years ago, and once I started I was so mad that I hadn't found this great sport earlier on in my life. I am now entering my 3rd year with the Dover Bass Club, two of which were spent as club president. I am basically a weekend warrior, but would like to advance within the sport as my time and money and skills allow. I currently have a 14' jon boat, decked out w/bow mount trolling motor, perfect for these toilet bowls called "lakes" here in DE. I am not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to bass fishing, but I am always willing to share what I have learned so far with anyone who may need the help. Look forward to meeting some good people and learning from you all.my son after a third place finish at his first tournament
