up here in maine this year has been just a all out winner it woulld seem we have been a month late in all respects and NEVER got the dog days of summer. the firstt year i can remember never having to drop shot and the fall period is here already - (LOL) the only bad thing at least on my lakes is that the top water bite never really turned on consistantly

try to find the warmest water on the lake shallow with grass and rocks - twitch a jerk bait - or fish a tube real SLOW - SLOW - SLOW is the key

i have been using a wounded spook - it does the job very nicely - no having to walk the dog! the props on the front and back make all the racket needed - kind like fishing a BIG torpedo - and we all know how much the smallies love them
