Help Me Pick A Jdm Spinning Reel!
The 2506 holds 100 yards of 6 lb mono, 20 lb braid. That should be plenty. The downfall to this is a lesser drag. Looking at the 2000 Freams compared to the 2000 Ballistic, the Freams says 190 meters of 6 lb, where the Ballistic says 135 yards of 6 lb. Seems odd. Wrong?

Help Me Pick A Jdm Spinning Reel!
Yes, I need the reel to match my Custom Rod. Socks don't matter. Same model rarenium and biomaster weigh nearly 2.5 ounces different. I need this combo to balance. I don't want it to be tip heavy. Right now I'm leaning towards the Luvias 2506. Little heavier than the Rarenium and made In Japan. I've always been a fan of Daiwa spinners and the air bail.

Help Me Pick A Jdm Spinning Reel!
I have a 6'7 custom Rod built on a 3 power spin jig mhx high mod (yes it was cut down). I'm looking at the Rarenium ci4+ 2500 and 2500c. Also the Luvias 2506. I'm a bit worried that any of these light reels won't balance things out very well. My next step is a drive out to Cabelas for some balance testing. Daiwa mag seal warrants some concern, and I like the fact that the 2500 Rarenium will be a breeze to source parts for. The only reel that has the exact specs I want is the Daiwa Freams 2000. If the heavier weight is necessary I may pick up a Shimano biomaster. What ballpark weight have you found that typically balances out an average 6'6 rod? Any thought or suggestions are welcome.

Kistler Klx
If you weren't tossing half ounce I'd pick the Senko special. The other two rods are essentially the same thing, give or take 3 inches.

Changing Line From Baitcaster To Spin Reel
What exactly is a fixed spool? He's taking line from a casting spool that he will be removing from the reel. The spool will be set flat and rotate as line peels from it. The spool on the spinning reel will spin as it picks up line. It's know different than taking line from a line of spool essentially

Changing Line From Baitcaster To Spin Reel
Am I the only one confused by the previous comment?

Changing Line From Baitcaster To Spin Reel
It's totally fine. Set the spool from the casting reel behind a phone book. Have the line coming off the spool from the bottom. Run the line between the phone book and keep it tight. I set cat litter jugs on each side of the spool to keep it from moving around.

Klx Crankbait Rod
The Avid cb rod is going to be more moderate in action, bend deeper into the blank. The Kistler will be more universal. I also like the nfc blank better than the Avid as well as the smaller guide train

Klx Crankbait Rod
I've owned 3,two were the crank rip twitch models. A six nine and 7 footer. Fantastic sticks imo. The build quality is great, actually better than any other production stick I've come across. I've since gone custom, but had I not its all I'd own. Outstanding value

Favorite Way To Fish
Shallow jerkbait. Suspended animation in clear water. I fish it year round, all times of day. Have two Shimano boxes full of different baits, and they all do something a little different. Find the right cadence, pause length, and twitch motion and I can catch most every species.

Quantum Or Abu Garcia?
Neither. Did that start the stirring enough?

The Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy
I wouldn't consider a Major Craft Volkey one piece rod entry level. The rods are built well with quality components and a blank that has a bit more advanced materials such as Mitsubishi rayon and Toray graphite. These are actually a great value if you exclude shipping charges.

Why Does It Matter If The Box Is Included?
People are more prone to not buy a reel if the box is not included as pointed out above, so why not keep it? It's just a small box. Plus if I want or need to send it out for maintenance, well then I have the box!

Strange Find
What was in it? Post it on Craigslist. Give it a week. If the owner really wants it back they will look. If not, oh well. Lesson learned

What Should I Get?
Spro and War Eagle. Great for the cost. A jigs a jig. As long it has a quality skirt and hook

Gonna Start Building My Own Rods This Winter, Got Some Questions.
I got started not long ago and quickly realized that I suck at it, but I've never been real good with my hands, nor do I have a lot of patience. I started talking to a guy who also just started and kinda handed everything over to him. He's super cool and really enjoys building. I lucked out big time. He builds whatever I want free of any labor charges. It gives him an excuse to sample blanks and components I'm having him use, plus if he wants to build a stick for himself he can tell his wife it's for me. Ha! I've noticed his work is getting better and he was d**n good off the get go. His work is amazing and I'm quite grateful. It's not for everyone, but if you're meticulous you shouldn't have any problems, you'll just end up with more rods than you know what to do with.

Dobyns Savvy Casting Rod...
Didn't care for mine. The build quality and balance was good - typical Dobyns, but the blank was pretty sub par in my hands. Lacked a certain crisp liveliness. Made a good moving bait rod though.

Line For Jerkbait Rod

Thoughts/experiences With Pflueger Patriarch Casting Reel
That's funny. Wouldn't be afraid to try one. Oh wait, that's right, I already have! Sounds more like a knock on Daiwa. I'm sure the P has just as much plastic inside.
