Scott Martin Tcs Rod Overview Video
Likely closer to a fast than a true moderate. Any rod that costs more than 100 bucks should have something better than hardloy guide inserts Imo.

Hate These Pfluger Spinning Reels
If you're gonna spend less than 70 bucks on a spinning reel better make it a Pfluger.

Ugh Why St. Croix... Why
I think the reason for the foregrip is purely traditional. It provides no benefits other than possible balance. If a foregrip is to be used it should measure no longer than 3/4 inch, and not be fat in diameter. No foregrip is great as long as the threads on the reel seat are trimmed as far as possible. Nobody does that. It's likely easier to mass produce rods with a foregrip than cut a bunch of reel seats. I'm pretty sure Dobyns and Powell use the size 16 ecs and do no trimming. Falcon rods are the worst and it's a shame cause most of there blanks are above par.

Mhx Rod Blank Advice
Oh yeah, if anyone has any pics to share of a 7 ft spinjig blank or popping blank under load that would be fantastic!!

Mhx Rod Blank Advice
Howdy. Finally getting around to putting together a 2 piece rod. This will likely get used only a few times a year, however if I like it enough I may squeeze it into the regular rotation. The primary baits I'm wanting to use with this stick are rattle baits & jerkbaits. Secondary baits being flukes and senkos. I'm debating between a 3 power spinjig blank, and a 3 power popping blank. The popping blank is listed as "fast", which seems a bit odd. I have a 4 power RX8 popping blank that is a mod fast. Is the MHX popping blank really more of a mod fast? I know single/treble hooks are best with different blanks, but if I had to choose I think I want the slower blank of the two for treble hook baits as my primary weapon. Thanks in advance!

Top Of The Line Rods 10 Years Or Older.
The original lighter than airs were built on Shikari blanks. No luck there. The components were top notch for that time. Don't let that one go.

Ugh Why St. Croix... Why
Best looking rods they have produced to date Imo. No huge foregrip or exposed threads.

Any Word On A Curado I 50/51?
I would expect to see it in the Jdm market before here. According to Shimano US anglers want robust reels with large lune capacities. Sigh

Anyone Use Their Centrifugal Baitcasting Reel With All Of The Magnets Turned Off?
The only magnetic only system I trust is Daiwa, and I never turn the dial below three. I had a lews tourney MG and could cast with it set at one. I felt the braking system was to strong.

Anyone Use Their Centrifugal Baitcasting Reel With All Of The Magnets Turned Off?
If a reel has cent brake weights I see no need for additional external magnetic brakes. Of course this is just my opinion, but dual braking systems are over rated. I guess you can set and forget the internal and fine tune the external but in my experience the difference is very marginal. If you can turn two brake blocks on and set the magnetic brakes to zero, cast trouble free, what's the point. Wind picks up just turn on another brake block. It's always felt like a half hearted implementation of both systems.

Having Some Trouble
If the rod isn't loading on the cast with the weight you are using you are using the wrong rod, period. Get the medium power. St. Croix rods run a little on the heavy side concerning power as Ty suggested.

Duo Realis Spinbait 80 And G Fix
I have started using the 100 size jerkbait in both the floating and suspending models. Super nice and have caught me some fish. I found them on that auction site for nine bucks. Next to try is the g fix rattle bait

What Diawa Is A 'must Have' Diawa?
Jdm, get a gently used Tdz. This reel is considered legendary and sought after for a reason. It's just a super reel. The Alphas and Sol are nice little reels once you install the drag clicker conversion kit. I personally can't handle a reel without a clicking drag. For Usdm I still prefer the Fuego over any other Daiwa reels in that price range. The Tdz and Fuego are versatile great casters that feel nice, especially after upgrading to a longer handle. With the exception of the 1016 which I love, I haven't been impressed with many Daiwa reels. The Zillions are super solid tanks that can handle quarter to an ounce, but they make better moving bait reels to me. I prefer the Tdz and Fuego for feel applications.

Cabelas Products And Customer Service Are The Best!
The Cabelas in Post Falls Idaho has some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. I could walk around the fishing department for an hour before anyone would even acknowledge I'm around. Also never been very impressed with the house brand merchandise either. Don't even bother anymore. I order everything on line. They never bring in anything new. The place us under staffed, and it seems like everyone hates there job.

Tube Jig Setup
Rigging options are limitless. I don't think there is another bait that will allow so many rigging options/styles. My personal experience, Dry Creek tubes are like popcorn to river smallies. Earplugs, rattles, scent, weight inserts, nose hooked, weedless, bullet weights, tube jigs, dropshot, it goes on and on. Be creative and think outside the box. I like a medium light extra fast spinning rod for finesse, and a medium fast casting rod for a little additional weight. I use 10 lb. braid with a 5 lb. fluoro leader on the spinning rod, and straight 10 lb. fluoro on my casting rod. Tubes and lipless cranks are the 1st two baits a ever tossed for those smallies I've been chasing for 10 years now. I think it's all I used for the first two till my buddy showed me a Senko (or maybe it was Roland Martin)??

Thanks. The POM knobs are gonna take some getting use to, but the green knob caps and nut retainer match the reel perfect!!
