  1. I would take the Chronarch CI4+ because it just a better reel and it's a Made in Japan Shimano. If you want a killer price on a NIB Chronarch CI4+ 150HG, I have one for sale. Send me a PM if you are interested.
  2. I bought this UL combo of course for bass but also for panfish. It will throw panfish size jigs, hardbaits and 2" swimbaits without a fuss.
  3. I agree it can be pricey but I can't spend my money when I am dead so I might as well spend it on something that I enjoy. If I wanted to get under a dock, I would skip but that would require that I practice skipping and it has not been a casting technique that I have not put much time into.
  4. No dock shooting with this but you already knew that.
  5. Major Craft MSX Limited 6'5" UL BFS and a Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG Limited with 5# Sniper. Casting gear is soooooo much cooler than spinning gear.
  6. Don't feel bad about not knowing all the measurements. I knew the basics like 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 etc but I had to ask my son about 64ths, 32nds and 16ths.
  7. Looking forward to a full report Mike.
  8. Tatsu is to expensive for me. I recently spooled up some 18# Sniper, my heaviest # test so far, and I have no problems casting with a 1/4 or 3/8oz bullet weight so I see no reason to use anything but Sniper.
  9. I just sold a Cosugi Works Spool and it just got resold. Ha ha. If you go the Shimano route and decide on the 32mm Yumeya BFS Spool, you need to know that there are 2 versions of that spool. A magnesium and an aluminum version. I just sold my last magnesium version and I have an aluminum version left. It is not quite as light as the magnesium version but it holds considerably less line which somewhat makes up the difference. If you are interested, the price is $75 shipped. I also have an Avail Ald0915 Microcast Spool that I would let go for $75 shipped.
  10. Check out the Shimano Poison Ultima or the Gamakatsu Luxxe Oltre.
  11. Try selling that custom rod for anything close to what you paid for it. No thanks! I'll buy my cookie cutter JDM rods and be happy with my choice.
  12. I was always brand loyal to Shimano until recently when I got a Megabass Zonda 68 and a couple of Daiwa Pixys. A PX68 Type-R and a JDM PX68R. The Megabass and the PX68R have been sold and the Type R is for sale. Daiwa is the only other brand that I would have ever considered and I found out that I do like Shimano more and there is no other reason to stray.
  13. What do you want to do with this BFS rod?
