  1. Frogs, whopper poppers, glidebaits, buzzbaits something in dark shade. I've had luck with slow rolling spinnerbaits with Colorado blades. Believe it or not I've got a few on large12 inch worms texas rigged. Find structure and cover and people will tell you to slow down your presentation but again I've had a lot of luck speeding it up. Fish can be a lot like us. There's always a few that go against the grain. Lol good luck
  2. Remember those Lazer lures. Well there were about 20 a piece. Don't laugh guys I got 10 of them, yes my wife was ticked. Lol. I was fishing at Lake Juliette in Georgia( it's a Georgia Power lake) I kept getting hung up in the stumps, my wife begged me to stop. I just had to prove her wrong this lure was gonna catch a fish. Well long story short when I got my last one snagged it was about 6 feet out I had to go in and get it. My wife is falling out laughing, I was so frustrated, I was not losing this lure that I went in but forgot to take off my 250 dollar snake boots. So now when I'm looking for fishing stuff, she still rolls over with laughter.
  3. I've had 200 dollars worth of Lazer lures, because some guy said bass will be attracted to these lights coming from my lure. So even though the idea is cool, thanks there's just to many variables that'll be used to catch fishermen instead of fish.
  4. I'd never keep track of the hours because when I hit 10k my wife would say since I mastered fishing I should sell everything and help her scrapbook. Lol
  5. Thank you guys for all the help and encouragement . I'll stick with the frog I think when I go fishing again I'm just using the frog until I get it down pack.
  6. Alright everyone I'm having problems fishing the hollow body frog. I'm using a 7ft heavy fast action rod it's a johnny Morris signiture with a pflueger patriarch baitcaster 7.1. I can't seem to get the walking action down, I try to keep a little slack in the line do my little pop and point the rod tip back toward the frog reel in some slack and repeat, it'll walk every now and again but nothing constant. I'm wondering should I do more practice in my pool before I hit the water again. Any help would be awesome or should I go back to spinning gear. I forgot to mention I'm kinda new to the baitcaster
  7. Thanks guys I'm thinking about getting the humminbird onix play with that a little while and then add the 360 during spring.
  8. Hello everyone, I just got my first boat.(thank you) I mostly fish for Bass but I love catching crappie and bluegill too. I'm looking for the best fishfinder I can get I really like humminbirds 360 view I'm wondering is it a gimmick do I need it and does lowrence offer one. I'll have about 3000 dollars maybe. Little more.now the hard part I've never really used a fishfinder before but I want a really good one. I don't wanna feel I should've gotten something else when next year models come out. And I want a unit that will help me dissect the lake.and with the 360 view do I need down and side scan,or can I have it all? Lol thanks for any help you can give.
  9. Hey everyone I ran across another problem, I went to a lake it was loaded with small gators and the water looked black. I was wondering would those gators keep to fish from biting, and do I stick with fire tiger, black and blue lures thanks
  10. When I got the clips I chose the large ones, thinking it'll be easier to open while switching baits. I think you're right about it being to big. Thanks for the tips
  11. Thanks the team gold will be my next reel then, by the way I'm really enjoying these Seeker rods too
  12. Thanks fellas, gonna give it another go. I have all of said lures, those weeds just took me out of my game plan. I bet that's what separate the pros from a regular guy, the ability to adapt to all situations
  13. Wow thanks guys I was using the clips and the bait just didn't feel right to me, so it messed with my confidence.
  14. Hey guys, just a quick question when using crankbaits would you tie to line or use those clips .
  15. Good morning, I just wanted to let guys know about the LEWS BB1. I'm really new to baitcasters, I have a shimano chronarch , pflueger patriarch and a bps Johnny Morris sig. I wanted something easy to throw, someone told me about LEWS so I got the BB1 (WOW) I forgot to go and adjust the brakes, all I did was adjust the tension knob. I was casting like a pro other people were noticing how close I was dropping bait so close to other side of bank effortlessly. I'm telling them it's the reel, it is a great reel
  16. Hello, I'm fishing in Florida, from the bank. The lake is full of grass ,I'm fishing text.rig, lipless crankbaits even tried a chatter bait. Every cast I caught weeds, sometimes I couldn't even see my lure. I saw fish jumping but I just couldn't find the technique or color need for a catch. Now the grass I pulled in was green and crisp but it was so much, it took me out of the fishing mood . The water was dark not muddy but I couldn't see more than a foot or two, can anyone help me with what i should be doing when fishing this area, as well as lure colors. P.S. I haven't slept good since my trip I need to find out what I did wrong I feel helpless . Thanks for all your help
  17. Spider wire invisibraid is very good
  18. Seeker rods has a reaction bait rod ( Paul Elias edition ) it's about 169 it is super great and American made
  19. I have the Lewis BB1 a pflueger patriarch and a johnny Morris sig. if you like control the johnny Morris is very nice I even have a shimano chronarch E6 but when it comes to worry free fishing, because of the dual braking I love my johnny
  20. Hey fellas, you ever wanted to laugh at some poor guys stupidity but you don't just in case the stupid fairy was still hanging around looking for another person to wave his wand at?
  21. AMEN brother listen how can you be ticked doing something you love. I wouldn't care what kind of boat I was fishing from, and I bet there's fish all over those lakes we don't have to go that far.JB I'm with you and I'll bring a paddle so when the battery is dead we can still fish
  22. drodriguez I don't wanna harp on you man, I feel your pain. Look you need a plan one that doesn't involve fishing, you have to build that connection with her back. Women want the man she tolerates his hobbies as long as they don't hinder her time with him. I know it wasn't your intent but when you asked her to move ...behind a tree,man.. That's like telling her to go sit in the car. I've noticed 2 things in my marriage 1) some wives just like watching their husbands do what they do( fishing golfing) or just knowing he is out there having fun 2) when said husband comes back he has to put some work in(like work release) it's time to see what she needs or wants. Thank her for..... I... want to say, "letting you go fishing" ( but you wouldn't like that phrasing ) thank her for allowing you some me time. I tell everyone men or women, we forget to do those things that helped their partners fall in love with them. Like fishing, once the fish is on the hook we stop working the bait. And my mother in law says , find a spot to go fishing that you can pitch a tent, go the night before, buy. Bottle of wine, sit by the campfire and just talk to your wife. Then get up early in the. Morning with just her fishing pole and take her to the lake to go fishing, bait her hook for her, show her how to throw the reel and watch the sun come up as your sipping your coffee. Put some romance into the experience!! After she is into it a little bit ask her if she minds if you go and get your pole to do some fishing too. After you guys have caught some fish, let her sit and relax while you clean the fish and you guys can have a nice romantic fish dinner together..now that you have caught your fish you have also caught your wife's heart. Take the sport out of it for the day and put the romance into it! :-)
  23. Well well well, this is one of those time when knowledge is dangerous. Now I feel bad about getting 10 of those laser lures at 20 dollars a pop, I think about what must be going through the fish minds as they swim by all those blinking red lights. The poppa fish says to his son ( stay away from those glowing bobbers and fast women they'll both leave you at the bottom of the lake glowing red from the gills. Thanks for the info ( wisdom) I will go forth a a learn my crankbait. The bass should be scared because I put down bait gimmicks and picked up some knowledge. This is awesome!!!!!! Tight lines
  24. What's going on Preytorien I had the same problem in a pond in georgia. I ordered a little fish attractor from Bass pro it was about 44 dollars and threw it about about 4-6 feet out .in about 3 weeks I noticed if I cast to the sides of the fish attractor I was slaying the bass I think I gave the small fish and fry a nice structure to hide in and around that the bass couldn't quite get to them in so the bass would hang around the sides waiting for something to slip up and run out...( hello mister crankbait) plus it was a great spot for big blue gills if it's not your pond I'll just make sure no one sees you put it out. Just wanted to give you an idea hope it helps ..TIGHT LINES buddy
