Ever Had A Great Spot Just Got To Nothing??
I have been fishing a bank at the local lake with very good success. Alot of 2-3 lb Largemouth and every trip at least 3-4 fish. Not to mention 3-4 more bites. I have been twice this week and now ZIP! No bites no fish no nothing. All the sudden Its like there are no fish. There is 40-50 yards of bank and I have fished it all with 5-6 different softs baits, spinner baits, buzz baits. All my softs that were my bread and butter now produce nothing. My go to was the baby brush hog, I can get the occasional nibble with it. With the heat kicking up here in middle TN, several days in the low 90's, and alot of lake pressure i'm not sure if this spot is not just dried up now. The area has alot of rock cover and sparse underwater cover. From the bank the water stays at 5-8 feet for 80-90 Ft until it slopes off into deeper water. Im not sure if the bass are just in the deeper water now or just run out, the boat ramp is about 30 yards away. May try a shakey head rig before I give up on it.

Larry The Lizard ~
I have used Zoom lizards for 10 plus years on the local lake I fish with a lot of success. I used them almost exclusively until I started using baby brush hogs with much greater success. Ill have to try these lizards out, I would like to see a resurgence in lizard success where I fish.

Anyone Else Use Abu Garcia Veritas Rods?
I bought one on sale from Academy about 3 weeks ago. I have caught several fish in the 3-4 range on #50 PP and ripped over rocks and limbs. Absolutely zero complaints, I love the feel and how sensitive the rod is for the price range. I have hit the tip on my 8' ceiling way too many times for my comfort but everything looks good. I'm gonna pick up a *** this week so I will be able to do a comparison.

Will Braided Line Tear Up My Rod And Reel?
I 100% didn't like fluoro, went right back to PP 50 slick 8. Casts great and really disappears in the water I fish.

Lews Tp Comin My Way!

Got My New Lews Tp, Now How To Adjust It!
While I havent had any new reels in the past 15 years or so I will say this is by far the smoothest farthest casting reel I have used. I was casting the other day in 5-10 mph winds right in my face and ZERO backlash. I could easily cast as far as my old reels into the wind. I also love the handles shape and width, very solid. I will be buying another for another rod for sure.

How Long Do Soft Plastic's Last?
Dunno about a closet but I have had about 15 packs of soft plastics in my tackle box for 15 years and they are still good as new.

Lews Tp Question Too Much Line?
Ty for the response, you are right this things casts amazing! 5-10 MPH winds dead in my face today and no backlash, plenty of distance, amazing reel.

Got My New Lews Tp, Now How To Adjust It!
You guys were stop on once again. I had it adjusted perfect! Took it to the lake and was casting dead into a 5-10 mph wind with the brake on 6 and not one single back lash! Casted farther then my old reels into the wind. very smooth and long. I cant wait to see what it will do without all the wind.

Lews Tp Question Too Much Line?
I used my new Lews TP today and noticed something i'm not used to. I am using #50 PP sllck 8 braid and i'm not sure if I spooled too much on or not but the line is rubbing the thumb screw. Now i'm much sure if its suppose to or not but it does and I can hear the braid rubbing the bar and I can feel a little resistance when I reel. Could it be I put too much line on? I bought 150 yrds of the PP and it says the reel will hold 120 yards, and I didnt use all the spool. I figured I used right at 120 or less. Any info please, thanks.

Wacky Rig Circle Hooks?
I set my wife up with a Wacky rig and a 2/0 circle hook, she has caught several fish on them very easily. Its great for her since she is new to fishing and doesn't really know how or when to set a hook. Of all the fish she has hooked not a single fish has gotten off.

Got My New Lews Tp, Now How To Adjust It!
Nice, thanks guys. I really love the feel so far. I love the compact size and the palming in my left hand. It retrieves very smooth and casts like silk. I did take all the breaks of and got immediate bird nest so I put 2 back on. When I get to the lake ill be able to see the comparison between my old reels. I am gonna forgo the bearing flushing do to being a novice on reel work. I really like the wide paddles on the retrieve, I guess it's the surface area. Being the ever tinkerer I just wanted to make sure.

Got My New Lews Tp, Now How To Adjust It!
Well I got my New Lews TP in yesterday, its was suppose to come in Tues, I was thrilled! Now for adjustment. I have watched the videos on here and several other places which have helped a ton. I just wanna make sure i do all I can to help this reel perform. So I left the brakes with 2 on 2 off. I set the spool tension knob to where my rig falls freely and hits the gound and doesnt turn more then one rotaion. I casted seveal times in the back yard and its casting great with the mag break set on 3. No backlash and bairly have to feather it, guess my main question is have I done all I need to do. Thanks guys.

Pb Largemouth Today Ty Everyone
Sorry it took me a while to reply. The story was my wife and I went with our kids to the lake for some bank fishing in the late evening around 6pm. I had bought several new kinds of finesse worms and trick worms and wanted to see if I could do any good with them. My first cast I threw a motor oil color power worm and go one heck of a bite. Set the hook and the next thing I know the weight and hook are flying out of the water right back at my face! I moved quickly and the weight missed me but smacked my rod dead center and proceeded to wrap and twist and knot up in a nice mess. I looked at the hooks and 3/4 of the worm was gone! bitten clean in half. Not 10 seconds later my wife yells out, I got one! She is wacky worming a Senko with a 2/0 circle hook. I put my mess down and its a nice 3lb fish! The biggest she had caught. So I laugh and tell her that I bet if I could look in the belly of that fish the resy of my worm would be in it since we were fishing right next to eachother. So she is all smiles and we take pictures and release her PB. After about 5-10 min of trying to get my mess of braided line straighted out I finally give up and cut it. I put another worm on and fish for 20-30 more casts and nothing. I have caught alot of fish at that spot on baby brush hogs so I figure to catch up to my wife I would put the old trusty on. Fist cast and a little buck 1.5lb bass nails it. So I tell her, well I guess I'll keep using my go to since the very first cast I get one. I adjust it back on the hook and try and cast one way too hard and far and bird nest my reel. It cast out 20ft or so and for a second I think to myself, I'll just pull it out and make another cast. The I remember something my dad always said. No matter what fish it out, you can catch fish on the worst cast sometimes. So the birds nest didn't stop me from reeling in so I play it and on the 3rd drop, text book hits. I dunno how I did it but It was one of the hardest fastest hooksets I have ever made and it was SOLID! I felt pretty good weight on my reel and he played out a little but I didnt really know how big he was till I got him to shore. My wife didnt see it but I told her, honey you gotta look at this, she said wait a minute i'm fishing, I said no baby you really gotta see this! She did and it blew her mind. She took the pictures for me and we released him for another angler. The rest of the weekend we just kept saying, What about that fish huh? We went to the Bass Pro shops and my kids kept looking at all the mounts going, that looks like dady's fish! My setup was a 7'3 MH Abu Garcia Veritas baitcaster with 30lb Spiderwire stealth 3/0 Owner EWG with a watermelon seed Baby Brushhog Shimano Bantam Citica 100

Lews Reels
Just ordered a TP online this morning and has already shipped out. I have been reading so much on these and needed a new reel I just couldn't not buy one. My reels I am using are 15+ years old and 2 bearing models, I can't wait to see how smooth it is.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
I emailed the guys at 13 and they quickly got back to me. They recommended a 7'3 MH. They are a tad but more but hey, it may be worth it.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
I thought it was very light with alot thinner overall profile then my Veritas. I felt like the tip of the M flex needed to be a bit stiffer for my needs, thats why I think the MH will be the ticket for me. But I really like the feel.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
Drove from Nashville to Gander Mt. In KY to look at Lews reels and *** rods. They didnt have 1 7'1 MH only M! I almost picked one up but after handling it I think MH will be my best bet. They only had 1 Lews Tour Pro SS! But I really liked how small and low profile it was.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
If I wouldn't have bought the Veritas I would, but I think a MH will probably do better for me right now since I am doing alot of bank fishing. I just wasn't to sure if I wanted 2 MH rods.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
Sorry 1/4 oz bullet weights on my brush hogs and worms.

13 Omen In M Or Mh
For you guys who have used them which of these actions would you recommend? I just bought a Abu Garcia Veritas 7'3 in MH. I have heard they run kinda stiff so i'm not sure I wanna have 2 Texas rig rods with the same ratings. 90% of the time I throw 1/4 oz. weight with a baby brush hog or a 7.5" culprit worm. I was thinking a 7'1 model with medium action since I have heard the *** run true to rating. I primarily fish on open to medium heavy rocks and logs/ stumps type waters.

Revo Stx Or Lews Tourn Pro
Im gonna buy a new reel to Texas rigging, mainly 1/4 oz weight with either baby brush or 7-8" worm. For you guys who know which one should I go with. I have not found one single bad review on the Lews but I also have read very good reviews and comments on the STX. The Revo S has been a bit up and down on reviews so I thought i'd step it up the the STX 6:4:1 ratio.
