  1. I haven't been out in a while
  2. Sounds sweet! Edge water is a good area for smallies. I get rocks out of there too. I head east a little to whiskey island that's in the same little area and fish of the rocks. That's probably my next spot to go. I always seem toget something decent there.
  3. I'll try those spots! Yesterday we went to Findley lake and fished for awhile. Nothing big just some small largemouth and some cats and the mixed in blue gill. Still was awesome weather to go relax and enjoy my Sunday.
  4. Archman Now Im extra excited to get to maine! I hope to get a nice PB! I will have plenty of pics tho. And Dave, I hear that. I have been to worn out to fish in this heat. once it cools a little like high of 80 Ill get back out. But right now I have to hang out in the AC!
  5. Also any hints to fishing in this heat? I don't have a boat yet so getting to the deeper waters is difficult. I guess just sun rise/set and night fishing right?
  6. Oh man, I can't wait! I just hope winter don't start to early! lol You do any fishing in the rangley area? Ill probably be able to go out two days.
  7. To be honest it felt real good like it has some quality. It was 69.99$ so I figure it worth a shot. I'm not into fishing in the rain so I didn't wanna spend 200$ just yet. If I like it then ill move up in my rain gear quality.
  8. I just bought a field and stream one today. Hope it works, next purchase will be bps gore tex.
  9. Made a bad choice in tryin to go to Coe lake this am. Ended up hitting the river and Wallace. Not a hit of coarse. I regretted going the second I got there. Way to many people around. I just couldn't pass up the low 70's weather. Maybe next time$
  10. I really wanna try Coe, maybe I'll hit it up n
  11. Yeah weathers been nuts! I've read rains been a good thing but not in a down pour. Haven't done much fishing in rain. I do want to start tho.
  12. Anyone make it out these last few days? Weathers cool, some light rain. Should be good conditions right? I may try tonight
  13. We are going up to rangley Maine, it's part of our time share. And I haven't tried the black river yet. Only the rocky and cuyahoga, but love Lake Erie. You are not to far from me. What good lake you have down south of you? I hear good things about a place called Knox lake. Wallace we have caught a few this year. But haven't tried out Coe, although we have been meaning too.
  14. It was amazing, I'll be making a full 7 day trip up there late April. I'd love to move there, but who knows. I'm going to Maine in sept I know that's gonna be amazing! I'm up by Cleveland, but I drive up to 2 hours for a good days fishing.
  15. Yeah, we are gonna make it a point to get a bunch this year. We tryed the cuyahoga today down in brecksville but it was to hot. Just caught a few pan fish and smallies.
  16. I have had about the same luck at the inland lakes and rivers, I want to try some dams out. Thats where I caught that muskie. And there is a lot of natrual lakes around. I actually never fished the river much until this year and I only did it cause it was close to my work. But after reading up on Technics and then pulling in some smallies I was the one hooked! lol Plus its nice to hike down the river and fish in a bunch of spots.
  17. haha I bet he was upset about that! I know when me and my buddy go one of use seems to catch a decent amount more then the other, usually me And yeah I dont muskie fish either, but the fight the put up I may just start lol I heard about Salt Lake, and a few others I didnt recognize the name of. And how do we really have no other ohio guys posting? Im beginning to think you only get responses if you're a "cool guy" with 1000+ posts.
  18. Had a blast up in Wisconsin, wish I had more time! Caught some 1/2#er largemouths and a few other small fish. I did get my biggest catch while I was in the Wisconsin river, it was a 35" 9# (I my scales right) muskie.
  19. I didn't make it I we there, but it was a fun time. To bad we got a couple storms tho. As for the bass, a few 2/3 #ers This was catch of the weekend.
  20. Thanks I'm about 2 hours from location and being up for 24hrs. And I think we are gonna go right to a lake lol
  21. Leaving or Wisconsin tonight!! Hoping to catch some nice bass up there!
  22. That's awesome to hear man! I'm leaving out of ohio tomorrow night and headed up there. Will arrive around 5am and try to be in te water by 7!! What were you using?
  23. We have a large river (a few) its the cuyahoga or "burning river", I have the best luck throwing a spinner or lipless crank bait (sometimes a swim jig). I look were the water has some rapid like current and toss it in on an angle going into it from the shore. They like to hang out right in that rougher water and right after it because the oxygen and smaller bait/food gather. Best of luck! I to am still trying to figure the river out but thats what I have had the best luck. Previous days fishing same river in 5 hours I caught 3 smallies, new spot after rapid area 5 in an hour.
  24. Yeah sound like a good place! I will be visiting a lot of inland lakes this year. I just wish I had more time to do it and that some where closer. lol everything seems to be at least and hour away. And ten those are all boater happy places. I'll find that "spot" one day! Right now it's the river by my work. I'm learning it quickly but the rain makes it harder to get there with the muddy slopes. It's all about learning where, when and how to fish. I'm trying to keep track of everything. I think I'll start a log book.
