What is the biggest fish you have every lost?
Thats an easy one, as the fish still haunts me! I was fishing on a lake that doesn't get a lot of pressure called Sleepy Hollow in NY. I hooked a nice largemouth on a crankbait. It jumped 3 times and the last time let me have my crankbait back. The fish was easily 6 1/2 lbs. I have since caught bigger, but that one still bothers me. To make matters worse a man and 2 boys stood on a dock and watched the whole thing.

Lazer pointers and fish reaction
I guess the Cat is out of the bag! Try bed fishing with a laser pointer. Pitch the bait in the bed, and shine a laser pointer on your bait. Wiggle the light and hang on. They can't stand it. No more circling the bed and making several casts. Its game over!

Chapman whining again...
Maybe Brett should change his style, I doubt Ike, Denny, and KVD get up in the morning worrying about Chapman. He has won and still doesn't show up on the radar! :'(

do you ever loose the passion?
NEVER! I go to sleep thinking about fishing, and wake up thinking about fishing! It is my second most favorite thing to do, most favorite is doing anything with my daughter. I spoke to Gerald Swindle on the phone this morning, he was doing a tackle show this A.M. and going to talk to some troops this afternoon, then onto Kentucky Lake. I am fishing the Elite series on Oneida in july, I can't wait!

What would you pay for this bass rig?
Tell the guy for $100.00 you will tow it to the dump for him. Just make sure you get the money up front. ;D

Caught without a License
I was wondering, If the officer would have let him off with a warning, until he found out he played for Dallas. If I was the judge that would get him the max! ;D

Caught without a License
I hope the penalty is nice and stiff! I don't know how much the fine is but I bet the license is a Hell of a lot less! ;D ;D How stupid is this guy? "Only goes fishing once a year and shouldn't have to buy a license" Try telling the officer, I only go driving once a year, I didn't think I needed a license." And as far as walking in the woods with a gun for "protection", You can't be serious? :-?

How big is this bass? - new picture added
NICE FISH! I would say its over 9 1/2 lbs easy! If you dn't have a scale, measure length and girth. You can tell the approx. weight with those measurements. I think if there is a bigger fish in that pond its going to be "Old Joesephine" Males don't grow that big! Congrats awesome fish!

marker buoys
How about you can post about marker buoys, but you can't make oachita think! : Or common sense isn't so common anymore! ;D
-
marker buoys
WOW! He thinks the will stay put with the weight not on the bottom, but will drift with the weight on the bottom! Anyone else confused, besides him and I? :-?

marker buoys
Let me get this straight. You have no problem with throwing out a marker and having the weight not touch the bottom, and you trust it is in the desired location. Then whem you throw a marker out and the weight hits the bottom, you are convinced the bouy floats off target? All the time in no wind or waves? I have never NEVER heard anything that makes less sense. Maybe a screen door on a submarine! You might want to sit back and think about this for a while, or maybe you have. You wrote that " NOBODY worries about getting the sinker on bottom." You can't be serious? I am going to copy this thread and show my friends, they won't believe me if I just tell them! The weight is absolutely supposed to be on the bottom! Do you catch any fish while using a marker buoy?
-
marker buoys
I have NEVER heard of anyone using marker buoys and not having the weight touch the bottom! :-? I don't see how you would ever expect them to stay in one place. I think you should try having the weight hit the bottom, and you might get more out of using them!

marker buoys
I utilize marker buoys quite a bit, and have found out, the hard way, a few tips. I always use the round, dumbell buoys in deep water. The flat buoys that flop when the line is coming off, take too long and by the time the weight gets to the bottom the buoys is off where I wanted it. If you are fishing in deep water, heavier weights are a good idea. If you are fishing in water with zebra muscles a thread a 2-3' piece of aquarium tubing over the line just above the weight, will save from losing the weight or buoy. Also you can paint the buoys black except for a little square on the end, leave that unpainted. The black will be hard to see, for others, but with the orange square on the end, you will be able to see them. Hope this helps a bit.

PETA tournament alert
I hope they find me with one of those. See there is a law that says you can not harrass anyone fishing as long as they are not breaking the law. So not only will I press charges, I will hook their little toy and take it home! There were some of the hippy. tree huggin, granola burpin, peta freaks at the classic in Pitt. They were holding up a sign. My friend and I got an ESPN banner and went and stood right in front of them. They left shortly after. I guess he didn't like the aroma that was coming from my backside. The crowd went wild! ESPN was happy with us too!
