  1. It gets pretty bad here in Pittsburgh. Worse rubber-necking I've ever seen. Ticks me off to no end. People will slow down for accidents and, i kid you not, as soon as they pass the wreck, its like the green flag has dropped at Daytona. It also happens when the wreck is on the other side. slonez, we also have the alert billboards over the highways, and people slow for those as well, almost causing accidents in the process. The ones that really tick me off is when the exit is backed up in the right lane, these self entitled jerkwads have the audacity to ride the left lane all the way to the front of the line, and stop, effectively backing up all traffic behind them in the left lane, and wait for someone to let them in. Those are the days I wish I drove a F-350 with a battering ram on the front of it. LC
  2. weightless worms, light weight worms (1/8 ounce and below), small rooster tails, topwater poppers that are too small to cast with a baitcaster. LC
  3. Im about to drive almost 2 hours to cabelas. They have the 13 omens in stock. For finesse spinning, they have a 7'3" in medium. Is this what i want? Is 7'3 too long for finesse? I was lookin for 7'1", maybe shorter. Also, in baitcasting, to be mated to lews tp in 7.1:1 for frog, jig, burning bladed baits, weighted plastics, they have 7'3" medium heavy. Again, was looking for 7'1". Is tbis what i want? Is 7'3 too long? LC
  4. Still in the planning phase here, but not for long. Was thinking, for the cranking setup....what are your thoughts on yo zuri hybrid 10# for line? LC
  5. Awesome to know they're taking care of you so quickly. Please let us know how the replacement performs. Im about to drop $80 on the tournament HS. LC
  6. I havent fished craws for very long, and mostly just use them as trailers on jigs and buzz baits, so forgive me if this is a silly question....whats the major difference between these db craws and last years rage tails? LC
  7. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I LOVE my lews MG. I plan on purchasing a Lews Tourney Pro and a BB1 very soon. Also switching to a Lews Tourney HS spinning reel. I dont see myself ever going away from Lews! LC
  8. It was clearly a squatch, using a large snapping turtle as a can opener, while fending off blows from Jason Voorhies and dodging shots from aliens with .45 acps riding a boat with exposed props. :-) LC
  9. x2. I dropped mine in water and took it all apart to place the pieces in rice. Worked fine after a few days. Little problems here and there with the battery, but that was it. LC
  10. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses here from the shimano gang. I don't think the lews spinning reels are that popular. I love my Lews tournament mg baitcaster, and will soon be getting a tournament HS Spinning reel myself. I've decided that based on the success I had with their baitcaster, I'm going to put faith in the spinning reels. LC
  11. I have not checked them out. Have seen them mentioned a few times. Based on my experience with their baitcasters, I'm very happy to dive into the Lews spinning world. If it doesn't work out, I'll consider alternatives, but for now, I'm a happy Lewser. :-D LC
  12. Hmmm.... Think I might try this myself. I'm good for losing lids as if I were paid to do it. My only issue so far is that the tube itself isn't labeled with the flavor. That was easily fixed with a sharpie though. LC
  13. I was using it occasionally but since I got my Lews it's been shelved. It was clean. The dirt all over it is the result of the girlfriend splashing it with mud while we cleaned out the garage one day. LC
  14. lol yup. Same with 2 bearings being something special, when now reels have upwards of 10 bearings. LC
  15. This reel is my father's old baitcaster that he used when I was a kid. He got it sometime back in the 90's,and is touted by him as the top of the line back in its day. I cant really find much info on it, value, reviews, etc. Just wondering if anyone here has had one or knows anything more about it. It casts well, but had a bit of a grinding issue before I cleaned it and reoiled the bearings. I like the corvette hood feature ;-) LC
  16. Agreed. I switched from a pistol grip lightning rod to a split grip. The pistol grip left me sore and feeling wore out at the end of the day. LC
  17. I also have large hands, if that's anything to consider. I don't want something so small to make me feel gorilla fisted. LC
  18. Not being able to handle them in person makes this difficult unfortunately. The 100 is only 6.9 ounces, while the 200 and 300 are slightly over 8 ounces. Reel will be going on a 7'1'' Medium *** black rod. LC
  19. Hmmm... I never thought of it that way. I just thought those were spool capacity guidelines. LC
  20. So I'm looking at getting the new Lews tournament HS Spinning reel for my finesse applications, but I'm not sure what size to get. I never really put much thought into the sizes of spinning reels, and just bought what looked good for general purpose fishing. The HS will come in the following sizes: 100-150yds 6lb test 200-140yds 8lb test 300-140yds 10lb test 400-160yds 12lb test the 100 series is a 5.6:1 ratio, all others are 6.1:1. I plan on running 20lb braid with a 10lb fluoro leader. I'm thinking I want the 300,cause I believe that's what my other spinning reels are. LC
  21. I'm partial to Lews. Love my MG. Getting a BB1 for cranks and a TP for jigs, worms, frogs, etc. In 7:1 ratio. If you're liking the super duty, Check out the flea market.... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/124920-fs-lews-super-duty-541-used/#entry1369025 LC
