Ok so i purchased another Avid from TW and I was just wondering what all I can do to help protect the full cork handle to keep it from drying out and breaking apart? Any suggestions would be awesome.

X2 great rod you won't find much better for that price point. A lot of people think that Omens are the best $100 rods. If you are fortunate enough to have a place that carries them around you go in and look at the rod carefully some tend to have eye problems.

Just purchased a Tatula type R for an incredible price. Can't wait till it gets here so I can put it on my Avid!!!

If you're talking about the ones from Quantam that sell for $159 I'd say that's a heck of a steal. And where did you find one for 50$? My dad loves Quantam rods and I was going to get him one for Father's Day.

Ok so I was at BPS the other day and they had Avids and Avid Pearls what is the difference between the two?

In my other thread I was looking at what St. Croix rod to get and decided to go with the Avid. The only problem I have with the rod is that I don't have a reel for it lol.

I haven't actually got to fish with the avid and it is killing me lol

The rod will be used for jigs Trigs and things of that nature

I purchased a 7ft MF Avid a few days ago and it arrived today now I need a reel for it. I'm purchasing a 5.4 Tatula from Valley Sports for my Crankbait rod. Should I pair the Avid with a higher gear ratio Tatula or another reel?

What is your favorite braid? Your favorite fluorocarbon? Your favorite monofilament? Your favorite copolymer? I'm fishing in my first tourney this weekend and I want to get some really good line to spool up with. Any feedback is appreciated.

How do you rig them? I went by my local DSG and they were .99 a bag so I bought a few.

I've been thinking about picking up a couple for a while now. My local DSG has the Triumphs for $100 but i haven't heard anything about them. So does anyone have a Triumph and want to give me a review? Also the Premier and Avid I have heard good things about. What would you guys suggest?

They dive the same depth so is the difference just size? Or do they have different actions?
