  1. I love academy baits, but can not get them up here in Canada. Their squarebill crankbaits have caught me a bunch of fish. I bought a bunch on a trip down south about 3 years ago but they are almost all gone, pike like them too. Great bait for the price and good color selection. Chris.
  2. My 3 favorite smallmouth spinnerbaits to burn, Nichol's mag44 in blue shad or chartreuse, strike king burner in sexy shad, and revenge 3/4oz in shad. Burn them as fast as you can on a high speed reel and hang on. Chris.
  3. The sexy dawg is my go to top water bait. I fish the green gizzard shad in clear water and it is a killer bait. To the point I sold most of my walk the dog top waters at our last tackle swap. I just find it the easiest top water bait to walk, and has a good hook up ratio. I used to like the old Jimmy Houston super spooks but they are getting harder to find. Chris.
  4. I like the power team lures 5" finicky tickler worm, it is a tapered worm and works great on a shakey head or on a drop shot. Chris.
  5. Hello, Gander Mountain has their tournament series spinning rods on sale right now for $60. I have never tried them but they feel pretty nice and had a good selection of sizes and actions. Chris.
  6. Nichol's spinnerbaits, great baits and durable baits. Chris.
  7. I have three favorites, Nichols mag 44, revenge, and strike king burner. Chris.
  8. Hello, has anyone ever tried the berkley pro braid in the blue box? It is made with dynema(sp). Just curious if anyone has any reviews on this line, thanks Chris.
  9. Might be a bit bigger than you want but I have had really good luck with the rapala dt16 in bluegill color. Chris.
  10. Wow, you guys are so lucky. Here in Canada, we never have sales like that. Does anyone know how long this sale is on for? I may make the drive over to Michigan, for those prices it would be worth the drive. Thanks Chris.
  11. If anyone wants a senko that the tail floats on a shakey head or Carolina rig you should check out the one's for sale on ebay by kirknhollie. His senko's actually float, so they don't work weightless but are great for any weighted application. His baits are super soft and he will make any color you want, and they are much cheaper than real senko's. Just make sure you ask him for the baits that float as he also makes a bait that sinks. If you email him tell him Chris from Canada recommended these baits, thanks Chris.
  12. I noticed it was a two year old post, just wanted to bring up the floating senko as an option. The one on ebay, still has good action on the fall when using a weighted option. I really like how the tail floats up when fishing a shakey head. Most senko style baits just sink to the bottom and lay flat on the bottom. It also works well on a c-rig when you want the bait just above the weeds or rocks. Chris.
  13. If you are looking for a floating senko there is a seller on ebay who makes a great one. There sellers name is kirknhollie on ebay. He makes a super soft senko stick bait that floats. His baits work great on a c-rig, wacky drop shot, and on a shakey head jig. I also use his baits wacky rigged on a weighted hook. He can make any color you want and I think his baits are $20-30 per 100 baits. Tell him Chris from Canada recommended his baits, he is a great guy to deal with. Good luck, Chris.
  14. I wish I lived near one of these stores, have heard nothing but great things about the deals they have in store. They don't seem to offer the same discounts online. The price of tackle up here in Canada is crazy expensive. If anyone wants to pick me up some baits at academy I could work something out in paypal payment or trade, I have an address to ship to in Texas if that helps. Thanks Chris.
