  1. Your fiance is saving you heartache. Thank her by buying yourself a Smoke.
  2. I have a Smoke sitting on a Cumara that my girlfriend doesn't know about yet.
  3. Lews doesn't have many options for a LH retrieve. I recommend the Pro Q if you reel lefty. If you reel with your right hand, disregard and carry on!
  4. A 5" Senko with a 3/0 EWG is something like 3/8 oz, if I'm not mistaken?
  5. I'm in the bank angler with a backpack group. 3701 Plano boxes are my friend. I don't have a good spinnerbait solution yet though.
  6. That is a good deal. I don't think my local one has that deal though.
  7. Citica because I prefer centrifugal braking. Also I don't think the Speed Spool comes in a 7:1 in LH. I could be mistaken.
  8. Ugly Stik has a 5'6" Medium spinning rod, but not Medium Heavy. You're going to have a hard time finding what you seek, I think. If you're serious about it, maybe Delaware Valley Tackle can custom build one for you. It could be pricey.
  9. Used Crucials for $100 shipped on a certain internet auction site. Cumaras for $175, too. Otherwise, Compre.
  10. I'll take a stab. I like a Medium power-Fast or XFast action for worms. Spinnerbaits would be Medium Heavy power-Fast action. Crankbait rods are usually, not always, fiberglass and have Moderate to Moderate-Fast actions. To be honest, a lot of it is personal preference.
  11. So this is a little off topic, but I need to thank you for this idea. I just caught a solid 19 inch Largemouth by twitching and pausing a black Yum Dinger after reading your post earlier.
  12. If you're up for buying used, you can get a Crucial for about that price. If you must buy new, the *** is the way to go.
  13. I'm glad the braid guys showed up in this thread. I was getting depressed. On topic, Sufix Elite has very good knot strength and abrasion resistance if you're into mono. Abrasion resistance is important for us northern guys wading through a sea of Pike teeth.
  14. I'll take the *** over the Diesel any day. It's not enough of a price difference to justify not having a warranty.
  15. I haven't found a red hook that keeps its color for very long. Red hooks are good. Bright, shiny gold hooks aren't.
  16. Would you mind linking this power pro knot test?
  17. At $160, it is hard to beat the BPS Pro Q/Carbonlite combo. I am currently frogging with a 7'1"MH *** and it is very good. You may want H power as you said.
  18. There is a certain internet auction site where used reels are sometimes bought and sold. Plus there's always the Flea Market.
  19. You should possibly add the Curado 50E and Chronarch 50mg to your list. If price is not a problem, the Core 50mg7 is a pretty popular reel.
  20. http://i.imgur.com/bn2sOLu.jpg How about that?
  21. DSG should have some Field and Stream Tec Spec Elite rods on clearance. Word is that those are decent rods for the price. I think they're like $38 or something at my local store. You could also get a St. Croix Triumph or Mojo Bass spinning rod. Sometimes DSG has deals on those.
  22. I can probably do that for you tonight if no one else does. Do you want the picture palming the reel or just hand on handle? I have a 7'1" ***. In my opinion, the handle on the *** is great but I have average to large hands and I palm my reels.
  23. I can confirm, Chronarch 200E's look sexy on an ***.
  24. You may be quite happy with the Booyah frog. The paint, especially the details, rubs off very fast in my experience but they are super freakin' soft and pretty well priced. That said, my personal favorite right now is the KVD in green pumpkin with the green/white legs and 3/4" trimmed off.
