How Do I Get Involved With Tournaments?
Hey you guys, I am 14 and I fish tournaments in Western Ny. Most tourneys have the rules that you need a boat with a livewell and that isn't an option. If you know anyone either your age or maybe an adult with a boat try to convince him to fish tournamnets with you. Another thing is that you need to cover the cost which can be expensive over time. So try to present to a company for the sponsorship of tournament cost. If you can get a friend to fish with you all you need to do is search online for local tournaments, find the clubs website and read everything, make sure the tournament isn't invitational and read all the rules. Hey, I know its a lot to do to get somewhere but its worth it, especially when you win or catch the lunker because when you do everyone is shocked when they see that a team that is 20 years younger than anyone else there beats them. I hope you can use some of this info and if you can get into tournaments i would like to know because its pretty cool, and here is a link to one of the tours I fish, look around it, its just to give you an idea of what to look for. http://fixit4utrail.com/

Dropshot Hooks
I am assuming your talking about the VMC spinshot hooks, that is what i use on my dropshot and i think that they are the best way to go for sure. I get the size 1/0 and tie it to a 6-8" leader.

How Do You Fish A Wacky Rig?
fishing a wacky rig is the simplest way out there to catch big and numerous fish. All you have to do is cast and let it sink, they usually hit it before it gets to the bottom. I will tell you however to not use a weight of any sort other than a split shot way above the hook because then it will sink too fast or get buried in weeds. Also, if I were you I would look into getting stikos from BPS because they are way cheaper than senkos, you get more of them and from my experience they work just as well.

Dropshot In Shallow Water?
You can fish a dropshot virtually anywhere as many have said before me. I generally use a 6" leader in the shallows and a 1.5' leader in deeper waters. Dropshots work great for largemouths and are especially great for smallies.

What Is Your Favorite Jig
best jig is the pepper custom baits flippin' jig. 3/8 ounce one with natural colors works great. one thing about them is that they have simple orange dots for eyes that bring in fish like magnets no matter the water clarity. you cant get them at bass pro so i just order them off of tackle warehouse

Drop Shot Baits
Try a zoom super salt plus finesse worm with natural colors on a vmc spinshot 1/0 hook, works every time. Another thing you can try if that doesnt work is a 5" watermelon w/th blue flake senko on your dropshot or wacky rig.
