Beaverdam Reservoir
From my experience out there early mornings are the best, I've had my best success hitting the drop off's from the points fishing 10-13 feet of water. I don't usually fish around the bridge because everyone that fishes there knows that spot. Crank baits definitely the way to go because of the lack of structure the fish are always moving around gotta cover ground until you find them. The place takes patience and could be frustrating at times but its not a place your gonna go and catch 10 fish a trip, I consider 2 or 3 a successful outing. One of the nice things about that place is that it does hold some nice size fish and usually when you catch something its usually pretty nice. Last time my dad came to visited me he wanted to give fishing a shot so I set him up and he ended up getting a couple nice ones. I spent more time keeping the boat in position and reading my Lowrance unit than fishing that day lol.

Quan jig the bass was measured at 21 inches I dont have a scale so the weight was guestimated by the length and by the weight of holding it I tried to make the best guess at the weight I could seemed to me to be around 5. Also homemadebaits its a little tough to take a decent picture by yourself I tried to do the best I could with it plus they had to be cut down to be posted to the form.....so next time ill make sure I have my camera crew out there with me to get a really nice picture so that way 5lbs will be more believable even though that's uncommon at all for a fish with that length.

If it holds sunfish I would say good possibility of bass being in there, you just gotta throw some lures to find out. I am usually unsure if the ponds I fish have any fish at all because most of them were made for run off and drainage for all the new developments but you would be surprised at the amount of healthy bass that thrive in them. Might be a little tough out there today with the cold front and string of storms pushing through, I was out yesterday for the afternoon and only managed one bass (21 in 5lb) really had to work for him.

- Hello From Northern Va
Dink, the only ponds I knew of in Ashburn are the Ashburn Village ponds which are private (for ashburn village residents only). I live like 1/2 mile from Beaver dam so I've been hitting that along with Algonkian regional park since its easy to launch my boat there by myself. I'll have to check out around Waxpool Rd thanks appreciate it!- Nepa Fishing Spots?
Miller pond, Prompton dam, long pond, upper woods, lower woods, and white oak- Hello From Northern Va
Hello, My name is Ryan and I have just moved to Ashburn Va from Scranton PA. I have been fishing pretty much my whole life and am looking forward to meeting some NOVA anglers and also picking up tips from everyone on the site. -Ryan - Northern Virginia (Nova) Fishing Discussion/reports
