well...first off i have heard many great things about all powell rods and i personally own 2 of the endurance series(and love them). BUT the rod you are talking about is a med heavy EXTRA FAST action rod. What that means is this rod shouldnt bend as much as a regular med heavy action rod. But from prior experience of powells i would say this may not be true. It will work for a pitching/flipping rod but might not be as stiff as you would like. You might want to wait until the powell inferno rods are realeased. They will most likely have a a rod that is better for pitching/flipping, and they have 5 year warranty where the diesel has no warranty. So if it was me i would wait and spend the extra bucks for the inferno( the inferno is coming out in october). I really hope this helps! As always tight lines!

I know the most common ways to customize a reel and was wondering; how mays different things i could do to a reel? And how much of an impact these upgrades might have? can i upgrade ball bearings in reals? Can i upgrade the drag? the specific reel i am speeking of is none other than the shimano scorpion xt 1000. i am not new to fishing but i am new to customizing reels. And if you could answer any of my questions please do it is highly appreciated. thanks for checking this post out and as always tightlines!
