  1. Work, work, work to secure my promotion to VP next may... Oh, yeah...and fish every waking moment that I am not at work.
  2. I have this same question. I have been living in the midwest for 5 years now and spend my winters wishing I could catch some bass. I have several friends that bug me to go ice fishing with them but I really have to interest in catching anything other than bass. I know it can be unavoidable but you get the idea. Help us out!!!

I use the BPS bag mentioned above but in the 360 (blue) version. It is advertised as only fitting 5 utility boxes but I have 7 in the main compartment. 5 on their sides and 2 on top and I am able to close it with ease. I also have a 350 box and probably 20 bags of soft plastics in the front pocket. I keep my tools in the very front pocket (3 pairs of pliers a pocket knife and fingernail clippers. In the 2 side pockets I have 2 spools of line (big ones) and a bottle of scent on one side and two Rapala scales, a very small utility box and sunscreen in the other. It also has a pocket that I use for a water bottle or bug spray. As you can see, I fit a lot of stuff in this smaller bag and it does tend to get heavy by the end of the day. But all in all it is a great bag. I have outgrown it though and like to bring more than what I can fit so I picked up the backpack version as well. That way I can carry a lunch with me and have a place to put my hoodie or whatever. And at least 5 more utility boxes.
  4. There is a pier on Eagle Lake...It is off of 63rd Ave. My townhouse also has a private dock. If you want to fish the private dock, hit me up.
  5. Thanks guys! I have been browsing the forum for a couple of hours now...What a great resource. Pun totally intended. I wish I would have found this site sooner. I will contribute as much as I can.
  6. I've been fishing the lakes in the west suburbs of the Twin Cities and I have had great luck all summer. My "go to's" have been a Booyah Spinnerbait in baby bass color, Minnow swim jigs of all colors and a Booyah swim jig in white with a white grub trailer. All in 3/8 oz. I have had to replace the swim jig twice since spring because it gets so warn out. I use 12lb low vis green suffix mono. Not sure any of this will help you but it is working for me.
  7. Hey Muzzy! I live in Maple Grove and I have been having great luck at Eagle Lake and Weaver Lake. They both have piers. Fish Lake does as well I believe but the road in is under construction and it is quite the hike in. Let me know if you want me to show you around. Thanks, Willy
  8. Hi everyone...I am new here and also fairly new to Minnesota. I grew up in Northern California and moved with my wife and kids to La Crosse, Wi. We spent almost four years there and ended up moving to the Minneapolis suburbs for work. I have been fishing for as long as I can remember and have fond memories of waking up at 4am and heading out on the bass boat with my grandfather on Lake Comanche as a youngster. I am privileged to be passing along the great skill of fishing to my kids. My son who is 9 right now lives for fishing and catches fish. My daughter who is almost 5 likes to go fishing but only is interested if they are biting. Otherwise she is perfectly content holding the fish her brother and I catch and putting the back in the lake. Well, enough about me...I'm going to go check out some threads. Thanks! Willy
