  1. I've been fishing Blue Marsh for 3 years now. I live 7 miles from the lake. I caught fish early, like Kate April and early May then it became sporadic. I fish 2x a week mostly evenings. I avoid weekends because of the out of control jet skiers and racing boats. I have several spots that always produce largemouths. Really only one produced on a regular basis this year. However, 2 weeks ago on a Thursday night up the Tully my son in law caught two smallies, dinks, then a lunker largemouth 20 ft of water, deep diving crank. Biggest fish in 3 yrs. 5-6 lbs. Water temp 81. I struck out that night. Last Sunday right, right at dark I was waiting for the Dry Brooks ramp to clear, switched to a square bill with rattles, 3rd cast caught biggest fish ever, 6-7 lb smallie!!!!!! Made my season although I.m going out tomorrow and water temps should be close to 70, I.m hoping the bite is on and looking for a big day. I don't think it is the Dead Sea, there are fish all over the place, but you do need to cover water.
  2. I live 7 miles from Blue Marsh. First year I caught nothing then I started really studying different fishing techniques. Now in a 3 hr period I usually catch 3-5 fish. You need to spend time there to figure them out then you will start catching. Senkos, texas rigged worms, spinner baits, crankbaits all work. You will also catch catfish on crankbaits there.....I have a few spots where I can always count on a fish....
  3. Thanks for the followup. I follow all rules and regulations. Used to be a cop in the area just new to the water. Thx

  7. Bassman8, thanks for the reply. I am totally new to bass fishing. So I'm learning fast. I mostly fisf for trout in the past and pike and lake trout on spoons on hunting trips to Canada but just got the 170 so hitting Blue Marsh hard and learning the boat and gear like you said. I did see Texas rig, crank baits way to go and I have crank baits. Will get some tubes and rigs.
  8. Just purchased a Bass Tracker Pro 170 and have been on Blue Marsh 3 out of last 5 days. Only caught one sunny. Fished Spring Creek mostly. Just learning to fish bass and it appears to be a steep learning curve..I have learned from these reports that tubes, warms and crank baits way to go..Any help will be appreciated.
