New guy from S.FL
Welcome Aboard BrowardBassin954, I've been fishing down here in SoFlo since I got here from Chicago back in 2012. The first year or 2 I spent a lot of time fishing in Broward because I was living in Pompano. Spent many hours fishing at Tradewinds Park over by Butterfly World. Don't laugh, but I saw several 5+ bass come out of there. My biggest out of Tradewinds is 4.5. Hate those d**n snakeheads, though. I'm currently living in Delray Beach about 10 minutes from Lake Ida. Based on what I've seen online and on TV, Lake Ida would be worth your time exploring. I think you want to fish the canals that go under I-95 and head a little bit west. If you have a few extra bucks and you're interested in learning Lake Ida, I'd be willing to split the cost of a Lake Ida guide for one day. That will save you lots of time locating good spots. Let me know and if I don't hear back from you, good luck!

BassResource is an excellent resource. There's so many videos online you can learn as many techniques as you want. I prefer finesse fishing over power fishing, but down here in Florida I'm definitely in the minority with finesse fishing. Regarding UglyStiks, I started that way, too. However, I am currently upgrading my rods from those UglyStiks to other mfrs. UglyStik is very durable, but not so sensitive. Try not to spend tooooooo much money, like I did. I'm a tackle junkie. Best of luck to you.

New Guy from Minnesota
Hey MNBASS Guy, I'm in South Florida for 3 years now, but originally from ILLINOIS. I like Largemouth Bass, but man do I miss those Walleye. Don't ever take the walleye and the rest of the diverse fishery you have up there for granted. I can taste that walleye now. Anyway, good luck to you.
