  1. Been fishing for a few hours everyday after school haven't hooked up yet but a few sniffs have me feeling pretty good. took this picture today thought id post to torture the maine guys
  2. I'm so pumped for Thompson now. Hopefully the ice will be out by the 26th.
  3. I love me some cuda fishing. Beautiful specimen there. Might have to try and eat one next time i get one.
  4. yeah sure man that would be awesome, I will send you a pm to get some details figured out come ice out. Our ranger definitely wouldn't fit, 518vx w/twin talons and a 200 etec lol. I think i may have known the guy in the jon boat based on some of the stories ive heard. what club do you fish out of? Funny enough i fish out of mainely bass. Obi wan?
  5. I live right on the buxton border... Gosh this whole new england scene is such a small world compared to out west Will you have a boat? some places that may be out are all south lakes like Arrowhead and its surrounding lakes, saco river (there is a lake in dayton ,i would just shore fish this time of year because Ice going down stream wouldn't be fun to hit.) I will be checking them this weekend no idea on their current state. But you could without find a place to cast on the river, good smallies and some browns. I also need some help with Mousam lake, just a few questions not looking for any secrets. Mostly if you can get into goose pond on the north end in a bass boat. But also a few questions on bottom type and water, One of the lakes that managed to escape tournaments from my club for a few years. Now its on both my Junior and adult schedule. Also if the fish have a preference on being shallow or deep.
  6. My father stores Bass boats from all over the state at his job so im sure I will hear when what opens with people wanting their boats. I will post at the first sniff of anything (for maine mostly). Update on the ponds that went out yesterday. Spent nearly all afternoon there but ended up with the skunk. But it felt incredible just to cast. which pond is open in sanford?
  7. These are private quarry ponds i was talking about sorry to be such a tease. Im going to check the saco river in dayton this weekend, as well as panther pond and arrowhead, maybe mousam.
  8. <---- me at school when i heard the ponds are out. Going out to do a blast and cast today. Need to try out a buddies AR then hit a pond or two. Its been too long since ive felt this excited to fish...
  9. guess people will know where to find me this weekend....
  10. that's good to hear i will be there in july!
  11. i wouldnt take the answer from us, get in contact with the tournament director for 100% verification.
  12. Will do for sure man! These are just quarry ponds but I would imagine 2 weeks on the bigger lakes in southern Maine my bet is that Arrowhead and cobb stream will be out this week if not the main bodies open now. Hopefully these 60 degree days a few with rain and 10+ winds all week wreak havoc on the ice.
  13. ponds by my house should be out by mid week... ABOUT d**n TIME.
  14. Not really a lake but still a body of water... The flats near Key West. I was there on vacation fishing. The day I had out there can not be replicated again. Only caught a handful of fish. What made it so special was there was absolutely no wind, Dead calm, sea turtles, sharks, rays, birds, tailing permit everything. It was a completely religious experience. Ive since been back and i'm convinced that is my calling... Now i just have to get there.
  15. Sebago by far. But even then its not terrible unless its a holiday. Im very glad to live in a state with such few people. I learned to fish in Arizona and that was some crazy stuff. Every holiday was packed to the point you couldnt fish any cove because most had parties going on....
  16. Drove to just about every public boat launch within an hour of me in southern maine... Ice is soft but still no open water. Ended up fly fishing the Presumpscot river by sebago and finished with a big goose egg. Hopefully with the weather being in the 50s next week some stuff should open up. Anyone hear of any iceout lakes in New Hampshire? either northern or central NH?
  17. you wont find a buzzbait or rico in my boat in the spring
  18. everywhere is still frozen tight up here
  19. just about all of em. Im not kidding either.
  20. Sounds a lot like the Southwest United States as far as conditions go. Maybe do some research on this and see if it sounds right. If you can catch em one place in the world it, why wouldn't it work elsewhere? Some baits i would try are drop shots (robo worms in a morning dawn or pink color if possible.) Alabama Rig, Large Crankbaits, Carolina Rigs, Top water stick baits and poppers. I would work these baits on the largest points during summer months as well as any sort of moving water going into the lake (or out) bait loves current no matter where you are. In fall and spring look for bait activity on the surface in the backs of coves. Remember bait is very active in lowlight conditions so dawn and dusk may be prime times. Good luck
  21. none while fishing. on the way i bump anything and everything but country
  22. Sebago had a ton of pressure the last two years hopefully people will start to let off. I love an unpressured sebago.
  23. I don't believe so. I will also be fishing those. Anyone who looks at this thread look for a ranger hat, costas, and a buff it's most likely me. Say hey if you want, in either a white ranger w/ Portland yacht services on the side. That or a white and yellow stratos
