Catt - The camp is south of the bridge on LA side. I'm from Lafayette and fish Big Lake, Cypremort Point, and Grand Isle, mainly from a kayak, which I love. With a kayak I really have to focus and learn one area at a time. I've found that I've become a better fisherman through kayak fishing by having to really focus and plan before getting out on the water. You can't change areas that easily! The most accessible place from the camp would be slaughter creek, which is an area I want to learn. On the other hand, I may want to have one or two other spots and can drive to if conditions don't favor this area. I have kids that are too young to fish right now, but when they're older, I'll have to break down and get a boat! If have any money left at that point! Thanks and any advice is appreciated.

New to site and relatively new to bass fishing. From South LA. Lucky to have a family member with a new place up there that has offered me its use. Have been trying to read through everything here and learn a few things. Looking forward to fishing up there and learning something new. If you see someone kayak fishing who looks lost, that will most likely be me!
