It depends on your feelings about that rod. Either get it fixed locally or get going on shopping for a new rod. I would do the new rod thing, because it's much more fun. Good luck.

You can't go wrong with a St Croix rod. Pair it with a Stradic & you'll be in fishing heaven. Beware of being too economical (cheap), you get what you pay for. You can pick up some great used fishing gear in the Fishing Flea Market forum.

I agree with Sam. Having your own launch would be so convenient. I think you would regret not doing it, especially having to tow 20 minutes away when the lake is in your backyard. I'm sure it would increase the value of your new property. I'm not sure what restrictions or regulations the town has about this proposed launch. You're going to have to do some research. Good luck.

Very little, if any at all. They have sponsors for one main reason = $$$. We all know that fish are finicky, so what Pros say works there may not work here where you fish. I know one thing for sure - fishing gear catches more fishermen than fish. The bait monkey has proven that many times.
