  1. I use mine on a casting rig mostly for open water or open banks.... I'll use spinning setup for thicker structure so I can make more accurate casts
  2. So I read a topic the other week about members talking about their '' confidence baits'' and I set a goal for myself to venture out and try new rigs. That being said, I decided to try the whacky rig. I have been using weightless 4'' and 6'' senkos and stick baits in a pond where I have thrown everything in my tackle box with very little success. I know there are big bass in there but they are always very picky and the bank is very steep all around the pond so it's really hard to be stealthy while fishing. The whacky rig has always been a bait I have just laughed off and thought '' no way that is gonna work'' but I have caught more fish in the past 2 weeks than I did all last year, this is definitely one of my new confidence baits. Just figured I would share my experience and let people know to just not try something because it may look or sound funny because I have learned first hand it could make or break a day of fishing!!!!!
  3. Google Earth is the only program I use there is a icon that that has a clock with a counterclockwise green arrow toward the top left of the screen if u click it u can look back over time at pics of the lake you fish. It showed me the 20 acre Lake I fish completely drained so I could see all the rock piles.... It helped me out tons
  4. That's a website that has info on fishing Lake Norman.... I have fished it several times but only once in the winter.... Suspending Jerkbait worked well for me I would let it sit for up to 1 minute between jerks

  6. Just for fun, what is the coolest thing you have seen under water on your depth finder?
  7. Thank you!!! thats what I needed to know!
  8. Ok that makes sense. The reason I asked is because there is a lot of rock structure in the shallows didn't know If the bass would move closer to warm structure ....i Probably should have mentioned that earlier
  9. The past week here in NC it has gone from 9° this Tuesday to 60° this coming weekend so it will be quite a drastic temperature change in a matter of just 5 days. Any advice on fishing a small lake (7 acres)?......just wondering if the largemouth will still be as lethargic as usual or what?
  10. I will fish all day long for bass and when night hits I'll switch rigs for catfish. I live in greensboro and fish for blue and channel cats in the Adams farm community lake with a PB of 19 lbs..... Y not have the best of both worlds? Although if it is a super cloudy day I'll just fish for cats all day seeing as the lake I fish is highly pressured for largemouth
