  1. I specifically said in the craigslist post that it was 6"2 repaired, and that it would make a good topwater/closequarters rod so the man knows what hes getting into. Hopefully he can use it, I can only afford to have one spinning and one baitcasting outfit so I need rods that'l work
  2. Yeah I'm selling it to the guy, sorry about not heeding all of your advice. I know it's my money on the line but still a waste of your time if I don't listen. This year is the first year I'm investing in fishing. I've been using the old uglystick/shakespeare for the past three years. I guess I'm a little impulsive due to constantly dreaming of fishing DUE TO ALL OF THIS DAD-GUM SNOW!
  3. After reading all of your comments, I posted the rod on craigslist. If I say yes, I have a buyer for 45$ I bought the rod for 50 so I'm only losing 5 bucks...
  4. Booyah Spinnerbaits! IMHO they are the best spinnerbait on the market and affordable. The pond magic series are great with a spinning rod, and the hotwire series are great with the baitcaster! They also make a series that is more durable for pike
  5. I recently purchased a St. Croix Mojo Bass Wacky Style Rod off of ebay. The rod's tip was snapped and then repaired, but the rod lost 6 inches in the process. It is originaly 6'8, its now 6'2. I purchased it for 50$ including shipping, was this a mistake? The rod is originally an extra fast action, is it an even faster action now that it is shorter? Thanks for any advise.
  6. I'm looking to pair a pflueger president spinning reel with my St. Croix Mojo Bass Wacky Style Rod. The rod's tip was snapped and repaired so it is now 6 foot 2 rather than 6 foot 8. Should I buy the 6930 or 6935? I'll be using it for wacky worming and crankbaits.
  7. Has any one fished the Mississippi for smallmouth this time of year? I live in Minnesota and once this cold front is over, I'd like to try it since I believe it doesn't freeze here. I'd be fishing in Elk River for Smallmouth. What did you use and did you have success?
  8. Plymouth, Minnesotan here. I love fishing Minnetonka, I fish from a kayak and theres nothing like fishing early on a small bay when the lake is glass
  9. I considered the rage and avid but the deal on the mojo was too god to pass up. The rod I bid on had a broken tip but was repaired and refinished, usually its 110 but hopefully in three hours, It will be mine for 50
  10. Is the st. croix mojo bass wacky style spinning rod a good rod? I can't try it out because i'm gonna bid on it on ebay. I'd be using it for wacky worms and tiny spinnerbaits. Is it sensitive? Thats my main concern because I'll need to detect light bites. How does it compare to the abu gacia veritas? Thanks
  11. Thanks everybody, several people affirmed what I had been thinking;that i should control he fish and set the hook with my strong arm. I'll probably buy a lefthanded baitcaster
  12. looking to get my first baitcaster, I'm right handed and used to spinning reels so lefthanded baitcasters feel more comfortable, I'e read that you usually reel with your strong hand since baitcasters are meant for power fishing but honestly, my left hand is strong enough from spinning tackle. What are your opinions
  13. Looking to get my first baitcasting set up. Any thoughts on these rods? I know that the mojo and premier are the same besides the handle, so are there advantages to split grip? I would be getting a medium heavy fast action to serve for spinnerbaits and topwater frogs
  14. Thanks everybody! This is my first time using this forum and you all replied so quickly. I'm going to wait a while and see if the curados go down considerably I'll probably just buy whatever I can get the best deal for on ebay, I'm getting a lefthanded so my options on ebay are limited. i would love to know of some good fishing auction sites...
  15. I'm looking to get my first baitcast set up. I'm debating between the lews speed spool or tournament speed spool, the shimano curado, shimano citicia, and the bass pro shops pro qualifier. What are your thoughts?
