  1. I'm thinking about giving the spybait technique a try this spring question is why is everyone saying this is only a clear water presentation? I mean its small I guess but you fish it slow and it has props to create a bit of a wake.
  2. Well I have only taken my Stradic out once because I live in Michigan but its very light and smooth. The Supreme I have had for awhile and loved it for the first two years but it has gotten a little rough. I've cleaned and oiled it but it hasn't helped much. I've owned stradics in the past and they just seem to last. I'm all about how light I can get with my rig so if that's not as important to you for the money I would just go with the Supreme. If I had to rank mine however I'd go in order Stradic, Smoke, Gold Spin and then Supreme but I think they are all great, that why I got them.
  3. Lews Gold Spin for the money I think is where its at. I own a Smoke, Stradic cif+, Daiwa regal emblem Z, Plueger Supreme XT and I love that Gold Spin!
  4. I guess not many have tried them ... the bass around me were sure eating them, maybe they thought they were something other than a turtle. I got them as a gift and sat on them for a year and tried them as a texas rig and didn't like the action but glad I tried as a drop shot.
  5. I have the ellite tech small mouth rod 6-9 m xf paired with a Lews Gold spin that I use for drop shot and weightless senkos on my local river and I love it! I got the reel for $110 new on eBay and the rod new on Amazon for $90. The Lews Gold spin is fantastic I have no complaints other than I think its kinda ugly. I love the knob and the bail however and its only .4 ozs heavier than the Stradic ci4+! I have plenty off combos and this is in my top 3.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I can't wait until it warms up to give a try, this is the worst winter I can remeber so hopefully this summer will make up for it.
  7. Last summer I purchased the bombshell turtle as many lures catch me and not the fish so much but I do like to experiment and try new lures often. I nose hooked these on my drop shot setup as I was getting many hits on anything else during this span in the summer and every time I put these on I killed it! Has anyone else tried these on a drop shot or any other presentations for that matter?
  8. Just picked up the Veracity spinning rod ML to pair with my CI4+ 2500 for drop shot fishing. Anyone have thoughts on this rod or reviews yet?
  9. I use the Fenwick Ellitetech 6'9 m xf and purchased the Lews Gold spin for this exact application and love it!! You can grab the Lews on eBay for $100 and its only .4 oz's heavier than the CI4+ which I also own. The Lews is not as smooth but not to far behind it seems very stout and I love the knob. Not sure if its just because the spool is longer but it does seem to cast farther than my other set ups. On the Fenwick I cant believe they are as cheap as they are. Very sensitive, load up great, light .... I just cant say enough about that rod its one of my favorites and I own a bunch.
